john01, you need a program that does Caller ID announcement. My program will just transfer it to the BT headset.

Is it possible so that if you receive a call while you are on the phone the Caller ID won't transfer?

If I am on the phone and get another call the CallerID plays over the headset very loudly.

I do not know if this is a result of your software though.

Also, when a call comes in, there is a fraction of a second where the ringtone plays over the phone speaker before being transfered to the headset. It is only a fifth of a second or so, but enough to get everybodys attention in a quiet room. I think this only happens with certain ringtones (I am using the 'OldPhone' ringtone).

Remlle, sorry, I have not had success in making this work with teh 700wx.. but I think I saw some fourms either here or on pdaphonehome.com that someone said the had the BT working with your phone.. I haven't had time to check up more on it.

Jruser: Yes, i have finally seen that problem.. I think that it only happens on the first ring? You could try to call your phone after you reboot, before you go into a meeting or something.. and maybe that will make it so it won't do that? I'll work on the code a bit more, but hopefully this will help you in the mean time.

It does it on the first ring of every call actually. I tried what you suggested and it still does it.

I've also noticed twice now that there has been a call with only one ring and then the caller got transferred to voicemail. Is it possible that your program is losing the first three rings and kicking in late? This has happened twice since I installed this program.

Do you have the program installed on main memory?

Also, I use the "Ring Tone" = silent. So that all I hear is the Caller ID announcement. I think can be done by even changing the Ring Type to NONE and still get the Caller ID announcement..

As for the program missing the first three rings. that will not happen. As soon as your phone actually starts SEEING the incoming call it will start the program. The problem, as you can tell my picking up a land line and dialing your cell phone, is that the caller hears multiple rings before you even hear your first, I think?!? I've noticed from my land line I will call my cell phone and it will ring about 4 -5 times before my cell even starts ringing.

As for the Caller ID coming thru the headset while on call, it is designed that way.. as I say, set ring tone to silent and all you will hear is the caller ID announcement and not the "Old Phone" ring which could be loud. I can possible make this a option on the main screen of my program to have the announcement goto PPC speaker if you are already in a call?

Let me know if you have my program installed on main memory or storage memory because that is really the only thing I can think that is causing the missed calls/ extra ring thru ppc speaker.

If you are doing everything correctly... well, regardless... I will go ahead and make another version similar to the v1.06 that everyone said picked up all the calls but still work with the .NET 1.0.. give me some time and I'll get that release out.

Thanks for the debugging.

Yes, it is installed in main memory.

I can set ring tone = to silent, but I like having a ring tone because the Caller ID by itself does not always get my attention fi the phone is sitting somewhere.

What I was saying about it missing rings is that I usually hear 4 rings on my side and then the ringing stops as the caller is redirected to voicemail. I have recently had two calls where I heard one ring, didn't have time to answer it, and they then left a voicemail, and I received that. It is probalby not your program, but the thought did go through my mind.

And while in a call and another call comes in, the ringtone does not play, but the Caller ID is loud enough that the conversation cannot continue until I press ignore or the person quits calling. If the Caller ID voice would be quieter than the caller if you are already in a call that would work. I prefer just the beep in these situations though. An option on where to route the Caller ID in such situations would be OK, but going over the PPC speaker makes it impossible to use in a quiet situation. If you are on a headset, it is not likely that you would hear the PPC speaker anyways.

Would volume independence be possible? Right now the main system volume controls the caller ID/ringtone volume on the headset. It would be a great feature if the phone could be set to vibrate mode, yet still hear the caller ID over the headset.

An option to allow the ring to come over both the speaker and the headset simultaneously would add to the versatility as well.

In my Start menu > Program Files it shows two files called audio. Audio and Audio1. I had to uninstall the BT ID transfer program and reinstall it in main memory instead. Is there a way to get rid of the other one?

Also, when i press the button on my BT to activate Voice command it, it beeps twice once in my HeadSet and again through my speaker. Then it will say everything else through my speaker. (Like the confirmation) Is this the way its supposed to work? Can it just be done with one beep from my headset and never come through the speaker?

Finally had to uninstall for now. I love the program, it's just causing too may problems..

Around 50% of the time, if I try to answer phone on incoming call, it continues to ring and won't answer the phone. Repeatedly hitting answer actually forces a new instance of the PHONE app up (this is shown in the task mgr). This shouldn't be possible but it happenes and still doesn't answer. Eventually have to soft reset

When working, the tone in my ear piece (motorola h500) continues to overlap the verbal from MSVC.

Also when it does answer, typically when you hit the headset button to answer, it can still ring once or twice more before actually connecting the call or even continue ringing while connecting the call. Very strange

Uninstalling cured all issues.

Feature request once things get smoother. Instead of having the HIDE/EXIT prompt screen on softboot (which can be annoying as other apps are loading) How about a setup option from control panel (or programs) that you can flag that screen on softboot. So lets say you have the option ()HIDE ()DISABLE ()Prompt instead. Just a thought..

Hardware:Verizon XV6700 Latest rom revision
Motorola H500 BT Headset

Software:
SBSH Pocket Weather
SBSH Pocket Breeze
MSVC 1.6
Verizon Wireless SYNC

Version of IDTransfer is latest 1.0 available in the thread

Have also tried with AKU 2.2 for giggles and get the same issues regardless

My Treo 700wx already does that (and voice command) out of the box, so maybe your program is all I need. If so, you are the man!
