Smartphone version?
Hello. First I just want to thank you for all the effort you have put into this. Anyway, I have a HTC Tornado (T-Mobile SDA), wich is a Windows Mobile 5 smartphone (no touchscreen, so it's not a pocket pc like the 6700). I know your app was designed and tested on a full Pocket PC, but I am still sad that it doesn't work on my smartphone.
It sounds like you don't have a smartphone to test it on... I am a . NET compact framework developer myself and I would be happy to try to get it working on the smartphone if you don't want to hassle with it yourself. Of course I would give you back all the source code and give you full credit, it's just I really would like this functionality and it sounds like you have a good app already. This is my first post on PPCGeeks, as I joined specifically to ask you this, but feel free to PM me if you might be willing to work with me. Oh, and if you already made a smartphone version and I just missed it, please point me to it . Thank you. |

Smartphone
Pincman, have you tried to install the file? I have some previous versions that do not use an enable/disable (touchscreen) to make it work. All you do is install the program and run it. It should redirect your audio to your headset. Let me look it up...
Ok, I found one. My IDTransfer 1.00... It could be a good start for us. Try to install it, and let me know what type of errors/ progress it gives you. I may have to convert the package from PPC to Smartphone if it will not install, which is very easy. Keep in touch.

Ok, I found this one that I was trying to get working for a Treo Smartphone... try this one and let me know how it responds.

Sorry if I mislead you, sryguy... this file is the one I attemped to make work for a TREO 700vw... but it does not work for that phone.
From what I understand there is a hardware issue with the treo in how it uses it's Cellular Radio and the BT Radio... I was never able to get it working for the TREO.. (I don't have one here to test on to try to make work) But I was hoping this old 'smartphone' program might work on Pincman's phone... Once again, that "SmartphoneIDTransfer" is only a test, and it will NOT work for a Treo... sorry. |

Ah...OK...I thought I had missed a breakthrough in this thread when I saw that posted today. Oh well, I appreciate you telling me before I attempted it though, saved me a bit of work!! Thanks

DLL incompatibility
Well, I took a look at your source code and rewrote my own version, but it appears that the library you are using to control the Bluetooth (InTheHand. Net.Handsfree.dll) is causing a "NotSupportedException" on the smartphone operating system. To answer your question, yes it installs fine; I think it is the library you are using that is giving problems. I will look into if there is any other way to route the audio to the Bluetooth headset using a different library or technique.
I'll keep you updated. Thanks again for all your work! |
