Transfer Caller Announcement to BT headset
****UPDATE**** 3/23/07 V1.03
* I had a problem with the audio gateway staying open after I was listening to music, but was related to the MSVC my program. I went ahead and made it so that if you want to close the audio gateway, if it for some reason was staying on and u didn't want it on, you can now just open IDTransfer and check the disable box. That will close the gateway and you can then re-enable IDTransfer. If you install this latest version and you are running Kirvin's 3.5 No Junk Sprint you will no longer get the annoying BT headset rings that used to come thru with ID annoucement. Kirvin's is the AKU i'm using, so I'm not sure if other cooked AKU's will work the same, but I know this one works. Also some other AKU's have some corrupt/missing GAC files that will make my program not work. I'd have to say this program is perfect now. It does everything I've wanted and sounds great now with only annoucing the incomming caller ID and no rings. But if you do have any other suggestions that you would like to see, just post them here or pm me. Please donate if you use and enjoy this program. I'd think it's worth a buck? Help a programmer out. And thanks to everyone for their help and input. ENJOY!!!! ***** Here is a update. Please uninstall your previous version before installing the new 1.03 version. TO UPDATE: Go to settings and Remove Programs. Remove any older version of my software. Then using File Explorer or Total Commander (ect.) browse to your \Windows\Start Menu\Program\ and delete the following files: IDTransfer Audio.exe You can also check in /Program Files for idtransfer and delete that as well. Then just run the latest version to install. Rename the .zip file to a .cab file and place on your PPC. Run from PPC. Installer will no longer place a shortcut in your Windows/Startup folder, you will need to launch the program from the Programs menu. If you want it to start automatically, just copy a shortcut of the file to the Windows/Startup folder. After launching the app, you will need to check the new "Enable" box for it to start working. You can disable it now as well. Fixed extra copies of IDTrans showing up in wrong places. No help the those smartdevices that did not work before so far This program was developed for my PPC-6700. So any phones of that model/hardware configuration should be able to run this program. Please donate if you enjoy this program. And keep the suggestions coming on anything else you would like me to add/remove *** UPDATE *** COMPLETELY REVAMPED *** NOW CALLED IDTRANSFER*** -No longer do you need to have .NET CF 2.0!!!!! -Program will no longer "sometimes" miss the first Incoming call (no "kick" start required) -Fixed ability to say "Open Audio" to transfer all phone audio to BT Headset This program works best if you have Microsoft Voice Commander (any version) I believe I have fixed every request and or problem now. This program will now run without CF 2.0 (Big space saving bonus). If any more problems are noticed or still not dealt with, please let me know as soon as possible. Please remeber to donate if you enjoy this program! Donate Link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...harset=UTF%2d8 Enjoy!! ************************************************** ******** -To uninstall previous versions: Reboot phone, Tap the "Exit" button, goto Settings and Remove Programs and remove any other "Bad Sector's" programs. Then install new version. Description: I have written a program that will now take your Caller Announcement and send it to your BT Headset! No more have to pull your phone from holster or out of pocket to see who is calling. This program should work with any Windows Mobile 5.0 PPC phone. Enjoy! TIPS: For MS Voice Command users, you need to click Start Menu/Setting then open the Voice Command icon. Then select (highlight) the Phone option in the scroll list and then press "Options" and make sure to Check the "Announce incoming calls". On "Notifications" using MSVC 1.6 i have selected "Announce using Bluetooth hands free only" but i actually do get all other announcements i.e. meetings and such thru it. If you try this and it does not work, just select "...notifications thru device speaker or wired headset only".

Caller Announcement thru BT Headset
Here are some tips for using this program:
The program will start automatically after a soft reset. You can stop the phone ring by changing Ring Type to NONE, and now the only thing coming thru will be the Caller ID announcement. You need .NET Compact Framework 2.0 to install this program. Get it here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en I have this installed on main device memory because it is recommended, and I believe that if you install it to storage card it will cause problems when your phone goes into standby mode. MSVC 1.6 users: You can touch the BT headset button and say "Play (artist,ect..)", right after that you can touch the BT headset button again and say "Open Audio" and this will stream your music to your headset. To close the Audio program you can then touch the BT headset button and say cancel, or just wait for it to close out to close the audio gateway. If you have any other questions or suggestions just send me a message or post here. Enjoy! |

If the Treo 700wx is a Windows Mobile 5.0 platform, this program should work fine on it.
This program will work with ANY program that currently gives you Caller Announcement THRU your PPC speaker. And of course donations are always appreciated at: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...harset=UTF%2d8 Something messed up with original post and that link so I'll fix that now. History: Not having caller announcement thru the BT headset was driving me crazy! Having to pull the phone from holster and see who is calling. I asked, searched, begged for a way to fix this, but alas was told it was not possible! Then the glimmer of hope came with MSVC 1.6 saying they would support BT headsets now and caller announcement.. So after wasting my money on THAT and finding out it STILL didn't work, I asked around some more. Now I was being told that it would not and never could work until WM 5.3 came out, and we (ppc6700 users) probably didn't have a chance in .... to even get that update. So I started learning programing for the PPC. I would read, test, read test.. on and on until 1 night I Finally figured it out! And here is the great result of many days/nights racking my head against a keyboard and all of the feedback I got from PDAPHONEHOME.COM (I didn't know about this place until someone there, bootheresa by name, suggested this fourm. I didn't want to post it here though until I got all the bugs worked out. So there ya go! If you would, please go ahead and check to see if this will work on your Treo. If it does not, I can mess around with it some more until I get it working for those phones as well. Enjoy! |

Bad Sector very nice little app here but I not a big fan of .net CF 2.0 would there be any chance of seeing a 1.0 compatible version? If it would be to much, don't worry with it. Thanks for posting, I think I may try it anyway and "bite the bullet" and install 2.0 :P

Wideawake,
I think someone asked me about the before, but my problem is that I don't know HOW to program it differently to work on 1.0. But since you ask, I will attempt to do it. I'm pretty sure that I will be able to. Treo Users, I'm going to try an port the application to work on "smartphones" and I will post it here. I need a little info: Is your memory accessible like a PPC? Do you/can you run .NET Compact Framework 2.0 on it? If you are not currently running .NET CF 2.0 can you try to install it, then try my application? Any feedback will help get me started on this one. |
