This is supposed to be the verizon wireless sync cab for the xv6800.

Ok Tplane37 was your tester of this with 6.5 (<--he is on verizon )and the results are good.
Install this cab and sync your contacts. After you sync then uninstall the cab. Run microsoft my phone and establish a sync with it and then you have a way to place the contacts back with more than one way. It has been 7 weeks without rain and finally we are getting a small amount. =D>

Does anyone know what steps I would need to have the smaller 4-row program icons I've seen in other roms. I tries Showaco's cabs that are meant to enable this but they don't seem to be working for me. I actually much prefer the smaller icons (the honeycomb even grew on me).

I am at work right now and on one of my phones I have a 4 row small icons.
I will pull from it and post here shortly. All you need to do is overwite two files in the windows directory. Give me about an hour and recheck this post.

The difference is the build numbers. 23003 is the current although will be working on 23004 tonite. Bare bones is just the basics needed. The non bare have some personal apps.

I've got a Verizon Titan that I bought from my old roommate when he switched to Sprint. He's done the majority of the work on it and I want to reflash it. However, I'm new to this stuff and I don't want to jack up my phone.

How do I go about installing one of these roms and will I have any problems since they're Sprint roms used on a Verizon phone.

Sorry if that's been asked before, but I really don't want to mess my phone up.

Thanks.

What carrier do you plan on using?

Sounds like your with Sprint. If not just run a carrier cab for your carrier.

No, I'm with Verizon (don't have Sprint up here in Montana. All we have is Verizon and Alltel, with AT&T replacing Alltel when the merger goes through). My old roommate moved to Florida and switched to Sprint from Verizon.

Anyways, I flashed it using 23003 rom and it worked and I can still make phone calls (called my parents to test).

Now I just have to get used to WM 6.5.

mattsm, thank's for this rom.

The Ev icon is showing up at the top. Yes, it's coming from the Verizon W Sync site. I installed the cab to try to get my contacts back earlier this afternoon. Any ideas?

Also wanted to note that when I installed mattsm's latest ROM out it said that I didn't need to install the carrier cab if I had Verizon so I didn't. Just wanted to point out that my IE homepage was set to a Sprint page and when it shows up that it's dialing #777 it says Sprint. Do I need the carrier cab after all?

Yes, you should install your carrier cab. Mattsm builds for Spint as default (his carrier) and the cab will over-write those settings. You'll still have the Sprint homepage, but it'll make your connection use Verizon standards.

It would'nt hurt to run the carrier cab.
Then double check the settings in:
"Start/Settings/Connections/Cannections/General(at the bottom), and make sure it says "Verizon Wireless".
If not, Deleet Settings.
If it does say Verizon Wireless, then tap "Modem"
Select "Data Network Connect", tap edit, make sure it says "Celluar Line" for Modem.
Tap next, see #777, Next, and enter your#@vzw3g.com, (User Name) VZW, (Password), then finish.
Not too long ago, a level 3 tech at VZW had me enter "BroadBandAccess", instead of "Data Network Connect". The reason was that my username & password would dissapear. That fixed that.
So now I keep both of them on there, and swich now and then.
Hope it helps.

**WARNING**

I could not make an emergency phone call from my phone using the ROM! (23003)

I flashed this ROM to my phone earlier today. I was driving down a street in my city about 20 minutes ago and p a s s e d (sorry, forum filtering edited out the real word!) by a building on fire. Noone else was nearby and I attempted to dial 911, but instead of entering emergency mode and calling 911, the phone froze for about 90 seconds before kicking me out of the dialer. Even after soft resetting twice, I was still unable to place an emergency phone call. Luckily after about 5 minutes another person came by and was able to call in to report the fire. But 5 minutes can be a lifetime (or a life!) in an emergency.

I did not make *any* changes to the ROM. Like I said, I had just flashed it earlier, and did not even change any preferences in the settings menus! Not even so much as the theme. Of course I was able to place a normal phone call, which is obviously all I had tested at that point.

So I don't know if it's the dialer, or the build, or if any other wm6.5 chefs have even tried to place an emergency call with a recent build, but I would say it's worth looking in to.

This is something I personally tested but not with any of the current releases.
The problem is that when you place a 911 call it does not dial like another number would. Before it connects with any dispatcher, the cell tower will attempt to get a gps lock on the device causing a lag of up to 3 min. Makes you think that the device is locked up(I reset the device 3 times during the test cause I thought it was locked up). It will close the dialer and all but then make the connection. This is not a good design. I was getting ancious just testing this. But I will test this again cause it is something that needs to work. I had tested this before in February or March.(tested with 6.1 and 6.5)

Thank you.

WIll test this again over the weekend. I am real good friends with the system here.

Cool. I will try this. Know where I might get the carrier cab for Verizon? I could have sworn I saw it in this thread somewhere but after a search I can't seem to locate it. Perhaps it was on the first post and it was removed?? I did notice the carrier cab info had been updated.

Post flash, 25.29 MB free. (Expect ~22MB post install of my cabs and ~16-18MB at the "end of day" of typical usage. Pretty good).

I am not sure what you are doing but this is an easy install.
Download the verizon carrier cab and then place on sd card.
Open file explorer on phone and navigate to storage card and select that cab. When It asks where to install then say device memory.

If that is not working then you need to do a hard reset and start over.

I am not sure what you are doing but this is an easy install.
Download the verizon carrier cab and then place on sd card.
Open file explorer on phone and navigate to storage card and select that cab. When It asks where to install then say device memory.

I think I will update to the new ROM you put up first and try this again. Since this was my first flash will I have to do anything special to install the new ROM over the one I have on now?

One more thing....where the heck is the hard reset??

Nothing special just flash to rom like you did the other. Once your phone is unlocked then you can just flash any custom rom.
