Hi

I'm testing your Mattsm_23001bare_Sprint ROM and it's working fine but I just have a problem...

I can install CommManager-V0.32.cab after the MortScript-4.2-PPC but when I try to install the ATContacts v0.98.cab is unsuccessful.

I could install both cab with Titan_21815_BBS_RUU

Can you help me?

I am very busy at the business today cause I ran one of the employees off.
But the first thing I would try is to not install that mort. cause I have ver.4.3b2 already in rom. I have no problems installing the ATContacts.
You might want to try that first. Hard reset then try installing the cabs without that mort. I will check back, but it will be later.
If you are still having problems then post the cabs here and I will try them and see what is going on.

Thanks

I didn't read through the whole forum and have been out of the ppc world for bit...Is the 23001 the same thing as the 21501 except with different apps cooked in, or have there been updates to the actual windows 6.5 OS? Thanks.

21501 was an earlier release of Windows Mobile 6.5. Don't forget that this is a program that is still developing and progressing. Nobody has documented the changes between each build, but there are a few under the hood. You may or may not notice a difference, but this build is about 6 weeks newer. The apps that get cooked in are secific to the chef; here, you have mattsm and he has chosen the specific apps that he thinks you'll enjoy!

Not here. This specific build is for a phone by HTC called the Titan (or 6800). Your best bet is to find a forum that specializes in your phone and see if anyone has done it.

21501 is the official build number from Microsoft.

The other builds, such as 21301, are HTC builds, that use the 21501 6.5 OS base.

So the base OS is the same, but the features from HTC are improving/changing. And, HTC is changing the base OS in some ways. So, I lie. :-)

So I am been using updater to get the 21501 build and cook stuff into that build. The 23001 isn't available from the updater, how can I cook my own apps into that build? Meaning where do I have to put the 23001 build to cook it? Thanks for the help, I am relatively new to this...

Because of the speed with which new builds have been coming (and the only incremental updates in each new build), the PPCKitchen team has not been releasing much via Updater. If you want to manually add the necessary files to create a build, they are all available in the Developer thread on this forum. It's a complicated process your first go-around. Shoot me a PM and I can walk you through some of the steps, or point you in the direction for more advanced help.

Or you can download JDume's kitchen in this section of the forum. I have not used it, but it seems pretty interesting. Be prepared for it to function differently than PPC Kitchen, though.

Dude I can't keep up. I am running 21820b and it is fast and works great and you are on 23001. I guess I will download that one tonight. You :headbang::headbang: I had to drop out for a couple of days because my Titan kept rebooting - long story short they replaced it with another Titan which I quickly flashed 21820b. Great work on carrying the torch.

Hey,

Is any one else having issues with G-Alarm latest 2.1.2, it uses WMPlayer.
When I open WMP, I get an error "No Skins Found".
But I can search for the sound file and play it, I just can't shut it off.
Is there a cab file to fix Windows Media Player?

Thanks.

Re: Windows 6.5 21812,21815,21820,23001.

Guys, I have problem updating my ROM! Please help.

What I have:

1. HTC PPC6800 Sprint with Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro

2. Active Sync 4.5 which syncs my ppc and my pc

(My phone is not unlocked since its CDMA and not GSM)

What I did:

1. Downloaded Mattsm_23001b_Sprint.nbh file (from the first page of this forum)

2. Downloaded BuildOS RUU (from the first page of this forum)

3. Renamed Mattsm_23001b_Sprint.nbh to ruu_signed.nbh and placed it in BuildOS RUU folder.

4. Ran the update utility

5. Once I get to the boot loader screen and see the progress bar which shows 0%, after a minute, I get "Communication Error". At this point I reset my PPC6800 Sprint and it boots back to my WinMo Pro 6.1. Tried this 4 times (!!!) and same result.

ANY IDEAS ON WHAT I AM DOING WRONG? THANKS A LOT GUYS!

Glad it worked for you. I figured the mort. was the culprit.

media player skins will be in next update: had a folder left out of dpi files. prolly tonite I will release an update to 23001 but it will not be much of a change. Yes there is a regedit for this. You will have to do a search cuz I can't remember it right off. Post it when you find it.

Those running 23001 non bare bones I have missed many test messages with this build. It turns out that the arcosoft that I am using is not working with this build so I will revert back to the standard. Am i the only one that has noticed this? I have it working fine now, but I am not ready to upload until a few other things get done. Windows media player is fixed also.

The 23001 bare bones has standard text message already.

anything else I need to address then let me know. Going out for dinner so It will still be later tonite.

Hey,

Its a nice skin for WMP, but I still can't get G-Alarm to accept it.
I will just have to wait for mattsm to upload his latest ROM.
The one with the dpi fixed.
Thanks.

Hey, great news, the skin did fix the problem (after I uninstalled the G-Alarm app and the reg key, then re installed).

Have you tried Advanced Config, (Menu/More Settings/Key Mapping),
You can reassign some buttons there but they are not program specific.
A reg edit cab would be the thing to have.
Or just search the reg internally, and try things, (after backing up).

Works for me.

I like this as well. I am keeping it.

It seems that the skin is not the only thing missing. After a fresh flash, then the skin fix, then G-Alarm install, the alarm is back to not finding WMP.
It's funny that when I had it working, I had exported a bunch of reg entries and png files from a unit that had 21501 on it. Imported that into 23001, and it worked.
But now the only way that I can get to work, is to restore a backup file from the time when it worked on the 23001. I don't think that will work for the next build.

Uploading both 23003 files now.
The non bare bones rom has some modifications.
1 Added the newest google maps
2 Took off arcosoft and left the larger menu
3 changed the top bar icons
4 comm fixed
5 all previous fixes in previous builds are fixed here as well.

If you don't like the top bar icons then let me know. I will regrill with stock.

I was going to report in on my usage of 23001b and you have 23003 up. Downloading now. 23001b works great. I started out with 19mb with camera activated and word going. After adding 17 programs including Ibrythill's WM 7 Titanium and Oxios close aps (which I use regularly) and while typing this I still have 19mb in high memory. No problem with wi-fi, and as usual sick and fast.:headbang:=D>=D>

2 questions, Have you thought of including Oxios close aps and disabling activesync from the first flash?
