Thanks, but I already did all that. I also checked the registry after doing the simple stuff and it still dims every 10 sec on battery power. Not on external power so though I'm confused...

Re: Windows 6.5 23004 and Previous builds

Hello Rothgar, I have that same HTC adapter and after trying it on a 6.1 ROM successfully, I upgraded to 23004 full Sprint. I messed around with a number of audio programs and I believe the problem is in the adapter itself as I was able to get sound by following Animez's step by step process. Problem is when you get to step 3. Plug in the headphones. At this point you need to slowly slide it in and wiggle it as you get almost flush. Mine seems to work best with just a little of the plug showing in the adapter. Not the best for windows media. Works best with Nitrogen, Audio Manager or Media Center because once you get sound you can easily go to the next song, not so with WMP. With WMP you have to go thru the process again and again. Thanks Animez cause it works for me and this week end I will open up the adapter and see what needs to be adjusted.=D>=D>

1. Start audio before plugging in the adapter.
2. Plug in the adapter with the head phones not plugged into it.
3. Plug in the headphones.

This works every time with the adapter I use. I've tried variations on those steps but it never works. This would not be so bad but as soon as the audio completely stops for more than a few seconds you have to repeat those steps to get it working again (so streaming an album through Orb is not worth it).

Hope that helps.

I had my setup with a different ROM working yesterday and did not need to follow these steps, but today, after changing to this ROM, I do have to follow these steps, and not plug my headphones into the adapter (3.5mm female to 2.5mm male--thanks HTC) all the way. Seems strange to me!

Just a FYI... the OEM USB splitter works with no issues on 23004 (WMM, SlingPlayer, YouTube, etc.,)

(BT stereo works great too. Thumbs up for 23004)

the clean version was without some of the apps and no dialer skin, no icontacts, ect.
The clean has no customizations. However the clean does include total commander, oxios, and a media center. The rest is left up to you to customize with your cabs, ect.

Thanks for the tip. I was able to get some sound through the adapter so I know it at least works. But I can't get the headphones to stay out part way to listen to a full song. ](*,) The mic and power ports both work great it is just the 3.5mm jack . I have BT headphones that I use when I am listening to podcasts or music around the house but I want to use the 3.5mm jack for my car. I just can't seem to get the plug to behave in order to get this to work consistantly. I am tempted to go back to a WM 6.1 rom and just make sure it works without all of these steps needed. Then I can know for sure if it is software or hardware. Although it looks like JustinNorthcutt already did that.

Will be working on 23007 tonite. Just in time for the weekend.

I have updated post #4 over at xda for more assistance with these roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...75&postcount=4

Should I keep the media center in the non bare?

There will be more fixes with this build. We have been working on them.

Any chance we can get a little more info on what exactly the tweaks and fixes are in this new version? Currently, loving 23004 and just got it the way I want it, so trying to decide if its worth it to upgrade or wait. Thank in advance and great job!

Have not noticed a great change yet, still looking.

Looking good. Can I make a minor request? Any chance you could cook PPCPimBackup into your roms? I just figured it would help people who flash their roms a lot.

I just keep PPCPimBackup on my memory card. It doesn't need to be installed, just runs straight off there. I store all my backup there anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

I found my original adapter and found that it works without problems with 23001. So it is for sure the adapter I bought :???: Although it is weird that it works better when using a 6.1 ROM. I also heard reports though that my particular adapter worked in android 1.0 but not 1.5 (cupcake). So it doesn't seem to be only WM having problems.

What is media center? I am using 23001 currently and I can't find a option for it. Maybe it is just missing from my rom.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23007

I work at a place where network is real erratic. One problem that i have been facing with 6.5 roms is that one fine bad network day, the rom would just freeze and become non responsive. a simple sms would take upto 45 seconds to open. this often requires hard reset or reflashing. so i roll back to 6.1 but then i come back to this thread and flash again only to face this again.
someone else been through anything like this? any plausible solutions?

I'll second that request - or, maybe more specifically I'd second a request for eJava. I don't mind installing Opera Mini myself after that, but I don't know of a way to add eJava after the fact...

I actually had this same problem, but reflashing took care of the problem so far for me. Some have had luck with a hack to turn off the text character counter at the bottom of each message, but that's important to me (twitter, mainly ;) )

I've also had limited success with deleting some of my text messages in poutlook.

I've assembled a collection of handy apps that I use on my phone, and one of them is Opera Mini. You can download it from here (I take no credit for the cab, I found it in the software section either here or at XDA):

Thanks for the link to the apps Btonetbone. The weather one is one I was looking for. And Matt, as I said in the other thread (sorry, my bad, wrong thread) This ROM rocks. It's fun learning where everything is and how it works. I have a whole new phone! Off to play now. Thanks for the kernel tip Matt on the memory. I went to work this morning and seen 23008 was coming up. I get home this evening and I see that 23009 in up also.
So I will be working on 23009 tonite. From what I can tell so far there is not much of a difference in these as the 23007 that I have up already. I am still going to work on a 23009 and post sometime

ok, what is everyone on Verizon using for MMS? I recently(last week) put 23004 on my phone and did not install the arcsoft MMS on the phone.... I couldn't get any MMS pics but the phone was incredibly stable and my memory usage didn't drain away.... but once I put arcsoft on my phone for MMS, it just keeps eating ram like no other..... Is there another solution that gives me MMS without the memory drain???? I've done this test 3 times now with the same result.....

I know a bunch of other people who use that on their phones with no similar slowing issues. It could be a few things:
1 - You've got a bad download. Try to download it again, either from the first post on my thread here, or GC's original thread.
2 - It's having a conflict with some other cab you have installed. Do you have any other installs or tweaks that interact with MMS, email or Outlook?

If those aren't the case, then I'd suggest looking around for another VZW Arcsoft cab; there are probably a few out there.

Good luck

Ok here is the 23009 build
Like I said there is not much of a difference.
Did add a screen capture software.

Sprint 23009 I will update first post later

The bare bone will be up later after btone and I figure this keyboard issue out.
