na, all the 6.5 roms look alike other than backgrounds. Pretty much everythings is stock that I release. Users can customize however they want. I will update first post tonite to what is exactly in each build, cuz I know a few things have changed.

Fantastic, running 53 barebones and with no gui (just blank today screen) and
HouMing's file explore extension, Opera with Java package, NSFAN's Opera, SHK Custom AsKicker (kills activesync, and 20 shortcuts (many, thanks to UND3RmySP3LL) next step install whitealien's project Mega M2d and FDE's M2d and compare the 2 different builds.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23053

Hey. I have been running your old 23004 rom, but I have been having a lot of problems. Not sure if its the phone or the rom, but it has been extremely slow and sluggish and the battery life is non-existant, as in I unplug it before bed and its dead before I wake up.

Knowing it could be hardware, I have had enough and will try anything before buying a new phone. So...

I am going to reflash back to stock and then try your newest rom since I love the look and feel of your roms. Not quite sure exactly what steps to take though so any help (in very specific terms) will be appreciated. Do I get stock from here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=21953

Also, I want to make sure I do anything and everything necessary to try and breathe life back into my poor Mogul, so nay hints or tips would be very appreciated too. Going to start flashing tomorrow sometime, so hopefully someone sees this beforehand. Thanks to Mattsm for great roms and thanks to anyone else in advance for any and all help! Hope you feel better Matt!

That's an old sounding build. I don't even remember it off the top of my head. Why don't you try the newest (23053 as of this post). Between MS and HTC, many fixes/changes/improvements have been in each build.

Ya, wait till he sees the newer UI that has changed since that build number.
I would just flash the newest build even before flashing stock to see if everything is fine. Then if not try flashing back to stock and then back.
Don't count out a possibly bad battery also.

Let us know.

If you really want to go back to stock before re-loading a new rom, go to HTC's website, and download the latest rom, based on your carrier. It will have all you need. You may need to go to your carrier's website (Sprint has a direct link to the HTC download page). I can't speak from experience on the newer builds, but 23017 is a fantastic build, and very stable. For me, the dropdown menus in 23041 were too big for a QVGA phone. Not sure the size of the dropdown menus in 23053.

OK so I thought it would be better to quote myself and upload some pics, I used the cabs in whitealiens thread at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541750 and even though I got an error when installing the dshow cab, I still got impressive results and this is from the beta:headbang: Tomorrow I will try the ROM at FDE and see the difference. But I could not have got such fantastic results without Mattsm Sprint barebones. (by the way I was hitting 30mb with just the 23053) Then after the cabs 29mb plus waiting for M2d Mega to load and then running at 25mb. Wow. Thank you Mattsm and I hope you are feeling better.=D>=D>=D> Unfortunately I can't upload the pic as they are 255kb and the limit for bmp is 19.5. I will try and figure a wa to get the pic up here.:(

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23053

Well, I decided to just flash to the newest rom last night, and it seems to be ok for now. It lasted through the night at least. :-P I'm kind of waiting now before I do anything since if it acts up, I want to flash back to stock and then reflash. So, I don't wanna set everything up only to lose all my progress. I don't really like the new ui as much, but maybe I can still use some of the older utils like quickmenu? Anyway, I will let you know. Thanks for your help!

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23053

I found a task manager that works well with the newer builds.
It puts a close button on the lower bar.
Also fixes the Resco Explorer issue of running off the bottom of the page.
You just have to adjust the settings from the registry for now.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology.
This will allow you to close the programs from the close button on the bottom bar.

Andrewjb, I just got through testing this on mine and all is working fine for me. Is anyone else seeing this issue.

Even if you hit the blue key then caps it still reverts to all caps? If caps are on then you need to hit the blue key and caps again to turn it off.

Yup. Its like the key is reversed. It just started happening. I can tell the Caps isnt press. I do press and hold it, it will type in lower case.

Just my 2 cents. I have been flashing all these ROMs as they become available and I am no having that problem. When something weird happens, I just do a hard reset and see if that fixes the problem. Best of luck as this is a great ROM. Running 23053 Sprint barebones on Titan. All of you cooks :headbang::headbang:

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23053

The cabs for Mega Manila2D here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541750

You will need to download about a dozen cabs and do one registery edit. I have mine set to autoinstall using Sashimi. I used to run it on top of Mattsm 6.5 23047 and had 19.85MB free at boot.

I am using a newer Mega manila build from that thread that features weather on the home tab. It uses more memory, I currently have 12856k free at boot on top of jmartin72's 23060 build. I am considering loading the original Mega m2d to see if I get more free memory back.

Some notes:
WM6.5 will sometimes unload m2d (it will automatically re-load).
I have a memory leak that drops my free mem to 3-5MB by the end of the day - not sure if it is M2d or WM6.5.
Battery drain can be really bad (need to charge nightly) - again, I'm not sure if it is WM6.5 or M2d.
I can't run MS voice command without hitting memory issues throughout the day
I have to disable M2D to run iGo8.

Despite all the drawbacks, I use M2D all the time. It runs very smoothly and works great. I just have to soft reset once a day to keep things happy.

Thanks for the reply, i think im going to try it with out manilla for a while to save on memory, as im only getting 21 megs on a fresh install in high mem mode.

I just need to find out how to get the task button in the top right to work and also if its possible to edit the honey comb of apps

Dang it, it has been so long since I flashed ROMs, been happy with my 6.1 for a long time, I completely forgot all about the page pool....
However after loading all my apps, minus a few titanium plugins soaking too much ram, it is running great, will adjust pagepool to 4 and re-flash, load everything all overagain, and let everyone know the results along with a list of hwat I installed....

Thanks again Mattsm for a beautiful ROM!!!!!!!

Quick question, that 28 mb is with just the 6.5 GUI after a soft-reset and clicking Oxios CloseAps? Also is there much of a difference between a 4 and a 12mb pp?

That memory was with the bare bones roms with a soft reset.

Going to a higher pagepool will increase the speed some, but you loose some of your total ram, (which reduces the available), by doing it.

A 4 pagepool will give you more total ram which results in more available. To me it is not enough of a difference to change since the 4 pagepool performs just fine. And gives you the most available free ram.

The non bare bones ram is lower available with some more apps installed. The result of it after a reset should be around the 25mb free.

I can't keep up!! LOL I just finished putting the new MegaM2d over your 23053 and it is very impressive. I started with 30mb with a 4 pp and no today screen. I added the cabs from WhiteAlien and I run at 17 - 20mb with the weather on the home screen and everything working except for music player, map search and the internet link. I should be able to get the Internet working as that is just a reg entry. But do I flash the new 23064 or continue optimizing my current configuration? Any way I go you :headbang::headbang: as I could not do it without you 23053 Barebones.
