Re: Mattsm 6.5 23049

I mean the input method where you write using the stylus, kind of like block recognizer but with actual letters as opposed to wierd symbols that resemble letters.

Its a bar that appears along the bottom 1/4 of the screen with three sections, one for uppercase letters, another for lowercase, and the third for numbers/symbols. Does this make sense? If you try and write a text, email, or note on an OEM 6.1 phone you'll see a drop down menu next to the keyboard icon at the bottom of the screen. There will be an option for keyboard, letter recognizer, and block recognizer.

I kind of figured that 6.5 might not support it since it seems to want to do away with the stylus, but if that's the case it would be odd to have a settings menu where you can choose the default method.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23049

Yes I see, there is no dropdown menu anymore. I will look at this tonite to see if anything can be done. I need to look at this other issue that justusIv is having also.

zerodark657 09-15-2009 10:42 AM

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23049

Thanks! For whatever its worth, its not that the dropdown menu is disabled. If you go into the input settings menu (settings->personal), the drop down under input menu only lists the regular keyboard and finger keyboard. It like the block and letter recognizer and the transcriber options have been deleted.

Thanks for your hard work on the great rom.

When composing an email exchange I found that the button I expected to be the send envelop it was actually a button for "Reply All." I installed the ReplyAllFix.cab and the problem is corrected.

Hey Mattsm,

I have a few questions that I would like to know if I can fix:
1. When in the messaging screen (created aol folder), the button on the bar that you press to send/receive or creat new messages has disappeared. How do I correct this?
2. On the start menu, I have to microsoft flag icons, instead of one flag, and one lock icon.
3. When I get a reminder alrm from the calender, all I see is "snooze" instead of the former listing of time choices (5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 1 hour). How can I get the choices back?
4. Has there been any progress with getting the task mgr on the top of the screen?

Thanks for a great ROM.

Whose system files are you using?

The task manager has been on the bottom of my list right now so no.
I just use the one in start menu and have it mapped to vc button right now.
I also exit out of programs when exit is available.

What version have you flashed. On 23049 (and 47), the "text" button have been replaced with icon buttons. The one on the right is for the "Menu", and you select Send/Receive from there. (See pic1)

Don't know about this.. as I haven't set the alarm, however if memory serves, this is how it has been a couple of times. I don't know if there is a "hack" to change it to the way you want.

The "close program when clicking X"-"task-manager" is a 3rd party add-on. It needs to be altered to work with the new task-bar on the bottom of the screen, that 6.5 has. I am sure there are plenty of posts about it all over this site... do a search.

Remember.. MS/HTC are the ones changing the look/feel of the ROM. I don't recommend contacting them, however :evil4:

I wish I had time, because I'd work on this awesome "theme" I use (Search for WinMo7) so it's an easy install! lol (See pic3)

Once again, huge thanks to matt and all from ForceDevelopments, for their time, effort and sweat, for not only creating these ROMS, but for supporting them as well!

1) Too bad we will loose everyone to TP2 at some time soon!
2) They refused to change their name to my recommendation : Force-Unlimited-Developments. aka, FUdev.

Hey mattsm,
Turns out my audio manager program quit again today while gps was on, so the reg did not work 100%, maybe i actually ran out of memory? Anyways the reg settings from before seemed to help but i guess not 100% :(

You can manually update the kitchen and cook.
Here is a link on some info on how to do that. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=6523

Where it says apache just make sure it says Titan.
you need sys 96dpi and common rars in kitchen.
you need to add the xip to titan_core rar in kitchen
you need to edit your device base and build base txt files.(this is in that link)

oem's that you want need to go in the user oem folder
any registry tweaks can be added via oem as well.

All this info is under the tutorial section at ppckitchen.org

Congrats on getting your TP2 matt.
Congrats on getting your TP2 tplane.

Thankfully, the word from matt is that he intends to continue with the Titan/Mogul/XV6800 development, as he still has a couple of them. :)

I don't intend to leave, even though I have my TP2.
As long as there are still titan users I intend to continue to assist.
The titan in my opinion is still a great phone.(just needs the ram that is in the TP2). I will look at some of these issues we are having soon. You know what it is like to get a new toy.

I am sure something new in one of the roms will come up but man i feel your last few roms are good enough to call it a day :)

*EDIT*
two things,
I am probably pulling the trigger on the TP2. So i hope to see you on the flip side, Assuming i get the courage to shell out the cash, and second. If i keep my mogul without any plan, it should continue to work with tomtom right in offline mode? pick up a gps signal etc. I am not exactly sure how assisted gps works or if its need for the mogul to pick up a signal.

I use TomTom 6 and iGo 6 on 2 of my Qwest 6800's.
I just change the reg value for AGPS to 0.
Use GPS Test for a primer and sometimes mGpsCmd.
Works great with no cell service.

mattsm 09-17-2009 04:37 PM

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23049

yup, stand alone gps will work. Also another thing that will still work without cell service is your wifi. Anywhere there is an open wifi service you can connect. Airports, coffee shops, hot spots that you have available to you. If you don't have wifi on your laptop for some reason or the wireless card is out on it, then you can use the mogul as an access point for your laptop. This phone is more capable than just a phone.

On a side note. When is cac2us gonna release one the roms he has been building?

Thank You Mattsm.
I have been having so much fun cooking up these builds as fast as they come out.
I will look into an upload site soon...
Those LED trophies for GATS put me behind a little.
Got to build more bulbs, so I can buy either a TP1 or TP2.

Also:
I found that the issue with the letter recognizer, is because it is only availible to the 21xxx builds.
I have not tried to mix n match any builds YET.

Thanks for this info. I have been playing with my TP2 at the moment. We get so involed in building and at the same time testing other builds, and before you know it "who knows what is what" lol
I never used those features so therefore never paid too much attention.

On a side note folks: Tplane37 enlightened us on the missing dropdown menu for the last two builds. There is no arrow, but if you tap and hold you get results.<<<<-----this is refering to onscreen keyboard

Now all we need is HSPL for our TP2.

cac2us don't settle for tp1, get the TP2 even if it takes alittle bit.

ya, try a reflash and if that does not work then flash back to stock and then back to 23049.
While on the stock rom open IE and play around a minute first.

Let us know.

Yea, It would be like investing in the 6700 while waiting to be able to afford the 6800.
Next we will see the OLED screens showing up on the next gen.

Hi mattsm:

I have my HTC MOGUL PPC-6800 with your Mattsm_23017Bare ROM...I tested your Mattsm_23041_Barebones ROM and I don't like it for the font-size, the style (the windows are more bigger than the screen) and Opera Mini doesn't save the password.

Do you recommed me your new Mattsm_23047_Barebones?

Thanks & "Think Different",

The menus in 041 were definately big. There has been much improvement on the newer builds. 23049 is the newest.
Let me know if opera mini is not working on it and I will fix and reupload.

Yes I would have to agree about these phones being more than phones. Even when I was running your 41 with M2d I was able to take notes in word, and jump back and forth between a bible and the internet without crashing. I too have been debating about the TP2, TP1 and heaven forbid the new Hero that will be coming soon. I will still be checking out what new developments come out on the Titan if I don't sell my Titan, so I am looking forward to your continued growth as a cook. You :headbang::headbang: and I =D>=D> you.

Side note (as the reply thread said my not was too short) I am currently running your barebones 49 and running with 21-27 as I have been playing with a 9mb pp, this with the default gui.

Are you using bare bones or non bare bones. I have tested the ##codes and they are working for me. Although I am not familiar with this ##3282# to reset internet services. What is this about? I have included the sprint carrier in my builds which have the settings for connecting to data services. Like I said, I am not familiar with this, never had to do it and never heard of it. Someone please explain what ##3282# does on the sprint service. Thanx.

I have briefly looked into this and have nothing yet. This looks like a nice dialer. I am trying to find the registry setting for the send button and have it mapped to this dialer. This is the dialer that is doing it, not the rom build.

I will spend some more time when I feel better. If anyone can assist in this then please do.

#codes are working on both builds. I have tested twice on each. Are installing a dialer?

I have been with sprint 10 years and have never heard of dialing a #code to reset internet connection. Please explain how the #code updates your internet connection.
