6.5 23064 is another great ROM by Mattsm. Maybe someone can help me resolve a couple of issues:

1) WiFi shows “not available” (had this problem with the last few ROMs, so it might not be related to 23064).
2) SlingPlayer Mobile “lost” some the interface keys when I switched to 23064. (See two "sBox" screen captures).

Any ideas?

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23064

I loaded this ROM. Kicks A$$!

One problem: Data doesn't work. Client initiated IOTA results in Error 1012. Try again later or contact Sprint. I contacted Sprint and they say data provisioning is correct. I tried relocking and reverting to original HTC 6.1 update ROM. No dice.

Any ideas?

Wifi is definately working. So maybe be something else causing this issue.

Are you saying that even with the original 6.1 rom, you still have no data?
Did you initiate the IOTA?
My roms already have sprint carrier and nothing is needed to activate data.
I will be around tonite if someone has not helped out before then.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23064

I tried the rom but switch back to stock for now, Issues were data connections appear slow and data bleed, If you launch internet explorer the connection does not close but stays open and when using EAS the connection stay opens, Has anyone else had this issue?

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23064

When you read the thread, you will find that proper shutdown of some apps is necessary for this newer UI.
When exit is availble, you need to use it. If not, then task manager shuts things down, that is what it is for.

The closing of apps has been an issue since after the 23017 build. If you want the old task manager in the top bar, where X closes apps, then flash the 23017.

Yes, when I went back to the original ROM, data continued to not work. I initiated the IOTA, but it was DOA. Tried loading a dcd cab that allowed me to type ##782# and put in my MSL and reset, but that didn't work either. Tried some other program that zapped my number, but luckily with the MSL and MSID, was able to put that back in.

Started over. Loaded nueSPL 4.7 and 6.5 23064. Voice works, but no data.

My guess here is that there must be something wrong in the pst settings.
This is definately in the phone programming. Double check all your pst settings.
One other thing to try is to manually add the data connection with username and password( if you know it) That would have been on the original contract with sprint.

Hey Mattsm, love the Rom, works great for me. I have seen the IOTA kick off and fail completely on its own with this rom. My data works fine though. Thanks for all your hard work. :)

Thanks for the info.

I just have one question for you.
Why do you keep installing a sprint carrier cab? Not needed, I build with sprint carrier.

This weekend I will build a new rom with the older UI, It will replace the 23017.
There will be two builds for it just like I have been doing.
I have to agree with you on 23017 being a good build.
If I wanted a very stable rom, easy to use, have the x button to close apps, ect. You know what I mean. Then I would be running 23017 right now.

I have kinda left out some of the older UI users when I went the direction of the newer UI. So I will fix that this weekend with 21869.

Hope this makes some happy.

Sounds like you need to reflash.

Hi mattsm:

What are the differences between Mattsm_23071_Barebones and Mattsm_21869_Barebones...just the UI (same UI as the 23017 build)?

What do you recommend me more?

Thanks

Beginner asking for help

I just flashed my titan to build 23071 for the first time. It seemed like everything went fine. My problem is when the phone boots up it just stays on the screen that says CodeFest 2009. I am missing some simple trick or do I need to redo the install? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FYI: I used Olipro 2.40 to unlock it and get to the bootloader. Then i used the ROMUpdateUtility.exe that cam with the 23071 sprint build(the newest one).

Thanks Again

The 21869 is the same UI as the 23017 build. It does not have the bottom bar, It also has the task manager in the top bar. This build is from a different com.

Just to make sure we are on the same page here. You flashed the 23017 not the 23071?
If this is correct then 23017 was and still is a good build. There has not been any issues at all with flashing the 23017 build. So if this is the case then I would try a reflash for sure. Also make sure you are running the correct radio.
Olipro 2.40 unlocker is perfect for spl. The best IMO.
Let me know how it goes. I will be here for a bit. There is chat available in my first post of this thread if need be.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23071

No, I flashed the 23071 build. I just picked that one because it said it was the newest. Like I said I am new to this, so maybe I should have picked a different build? I searched for someone having a similar problem to mine and found it here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=87185 . I can't connect to active sync now, and can't get back to the bootloader. I don't have a micro sd card yet. I had mostly memory sticks for sony stuff. I am going to try to borrow a sd card from a friend of mine tonight.

1) Should I follow the same steps that were outlined in that post I listed or have things changed?

2) Is there a way to do it without a sd card?

3) What build would you suggest a first timer use?

Thanks for any help.

mattsm 10-17-2009 05:05 PM

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23071

SD card method of flashing is the best IMO.
First time user to the 6.5 I would recomend the 21869 first.
Try this
Download 21869 and extract.
Place phone in bootloader.
Hook up usb while in bootloader.
Open the ruu folder and run the rom update utility.

Well I downloaded 23071 Sprintbarebones and it runs great, no problem with IE as I use the ie toggle most of the time or Opera Minni 5 beta (which now cuts and paste) or NSFANS's Opera Mobile (lots of tweaks) but the problem I have been having is my off button not working to turn the backlight on so that I am left with a black screen. This is usually fixed with a soft reset, so if it keeps doing it then relock and back to Sprint for a fix. I am still going to add the new M2d to this build to see what I end up with. Your 063 or 061 worked great but I still flashed the 071. LOL You rock=D>=D>=D>=D>

This is a problem in the rom that I am looking into, not your device. the power button and blackscreen issue
It started doing this with the 23071 build.

Great to hear that as I was just beginning to look for the relock procedure, instead I will load a different ROM and report back. You are doing wonderful work and we who want to be on the cutting edge will sometimes run into bumps in the road. :) That's why its call beta testing. LOL

Hi Matt,

Well I'm a first time cooked ROM user and must say I'm so happy I jumped on board. My Mogul was driving be nuts with lockups on the stock ROM and I was about ready to give it up. Your ROM made it like a new phone and finger friendly like it should have been from the start. I've been running your 23053 for a few weeks now and have no problems to report. I am lovin it! Thank you for all your efforts. :salute:
