Here is a cab that will fix the IE problem on build 23081
http://www.4shared.com/file/14392282...for_23081.html
I will update build later. For now this cab solves the issue.
Big thanks to joojoobee666 :occasion5:

No there is no 23082. Where did you see that?

I was almost sure I saw that on jmartins thread. I guess he changed it or maybe I was just tired.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23081

LOL, he had a typo on first page.

I have some new roms gonna be uploaded here in a little bit.
I have redone the 23081 builds so that a cab does not need to be installed for IE to work.
I have also built off of the com2 21872. This is for the ones that do not like the newest UI.

All 4 of these builds now contain the newest total commander.
The nonbarebones now includes the newest google maps.

So whats the verdict 23081 worth the flash from 23075?

devsolution 10-28-2009 12:06 PM

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23081

I went back and reflashed from 23081 (per IE fix) to 23075 (with the email fix applied) and had some success. After about a day of use however I got some odd behaviors when in high memory mode. My screen would go blank and would only be revived by the OK hardware button. Also my "start bar" would sometime not respond. Additionally, the lock screen reverted to the old 6.1 version. Really odd. I am going to re-apply 23081 with the IE fix and see how that goes.

It is not consistent either so it is hard to reproduce. It may also be due to low memory. I run sometimes as low as 5.4MB free.

Great ROM. My only request is that you use more neutral splash screens : )

Is there gonna be a build that includes java to be able to use java programs?

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23081

If the Windows Mobile 6.5 COM 5 branch is real, will you be trying them out?

Build 23502 (COM5) appears to already be leaked. I hear it is faster and more stable then 23081 with some better GUI elements like checkboxes, etc.

The 23502 build is older than the 23081 and is not as good as the 23081. It won't be long till these com5 builds will be up to par though. And yes I will probly continue in the direction of the com5 build. Lets see with the upcoming releases.
I will respond to some of these others tonite. I have been installing windows 7 and been having some issues that I believe is now fixed.

Edit: windows 7 on pc not phone so this is not confused.

why not just install java if that is what you want? There are cabs for it somewhere here. I do not use java and most don't. This is not meant to be smart.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23081

Well 8 hours later with the new and improved 23081 and it still has an issue where when the screen goes blank (power saving) and I bring it back the bar at the bottom does not work. The rest of the screen works fine as well as the top bar with the notifications. The buttons will appear to depress sometimes but nothing happens. Also the hardware equivalent buttons do not work as well (i.e. windows key) when in this mode. Soft reset gets it working again.

It is not consistent and may be due to my low memory running around 5.4MB free.

Just a quick question after the blanking problem I dropped backk to 069 barebones an it gave me 30 mb with clean screen, no GUI. I added the WhiteAlien M2d and it works great, except when I break it. LOL My question; is 81 faster or more memory than 069 as I don't use exchange and am taking a break unless I get real value (faster or more memory) any comments?

So both of you had this blanking problem?

And the answer is no. Not much of any difference between 069 and 081.

Yes as I had reported earlier when I had flashed to 071 (I believe) and I was ready to relock my Titan. You suggested drooping back a version and I did with excellent results. I too have been very busy and with the combo of 069 and WhiteAlien cabs for M2d2 final, I did not want to flash unless it gave me more memory. You rock dude, and you have brought an extension to my Titan. Now my debate is TP or Sprints Hero, I have not done full research or checked out the latest in the forums but probably will this weekend. Thank you again and add a paypal for us who want to give an extra thanks.

The HTC Hero is having some delay in regards to the SMS message being delivered to the device. No fix yet for this issue and they are having some battery issues at present.

Hey Guys,

I've been out of the flashing game for about 4 months now and just installed the latest 6.5 ROM (23081).

Much to my surprise, there have been some major changes since I last flashed.
My questions are "what happened to the HTC task manager?" and "is there a shortcut for closing programs other than opening Task Manager and selecting 'End Task'?"

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23081

Here is another question I have "is this version of 6.5 compatible with Windows 7 Mobile Device Center?".
Every time I try to sync now I get the message saying that I need to install Activesync 4.5 but that version is for Windows XP and won't work on Windows 7.
Is there a solution for this besides downgrading my OS or ROM version?

Download the latest ActiveSync or Mobile Device Center - Microsoft released an update to enable communication to WM 6.5 devices. I had the same issue and the update resolved it.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23081

Thank you to Mattsm for making a great ROM build! The 23081 released on 10/27 is working with NO PROBLEMS! Loaded perfectly and all applications work like a charm. I'm running the 3.35 Radio (Sprint Radio) on my Verizon 6800. If anybody is having problems, try reloading your radio rom. I was having difficulties with all the 6.5's until I updated the radio from 3.27. If you don't have a flash card, you can use the Sprint Radio Upgrade application. It will flash the radio and O/S. Then load the ROM of choice and you are good to go.

Most apps have an 'Exit' option in there menu. Some apps have an exit button (Facebook) but it doesn't kill the process.

I have been working on things with my TP2. There is a com5 build that is out and up to par with these com3 build that I have been messing with.
I will build a com5 build tonite or tommorrow. One of which will be a barebones. If I need to build a nonbare bones version then let me know, other wise I will be doing only a bare bones rom only.

Many thanks to all that can assist in this thread while I will be in and out, while still working on TP2 roms out of ppckitchen.(which is going quite nicely)All the TP2 roms that are out now were not built with PPCK.
Many thanks goes to the ppckitchen team for working on this as well.

Please do not be afraid to assist in this thread if you know the answer or even a suggestion.

Thanks

From the com5 branch.

This is the com5 which is very similar to the com3(230xx) builds.

There are no differences at the moment between them.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 com5 23504

It appears the the 23504 build has the same blank screen after wakeup problem (which also makes most hardware keys stop working) for me. That is consistent with 23075 and 238081 builds with me. I am proabalby going to go back to 23017 and give it a try. Other than the one problem, it seems to be a good build.

Also, the windows/settings/lock application does not launch (bad link maybe?).

Have you installed anything? Mine has not failed to wake yet.

As far as the lock feature, it works for me as well. You must put in a pin number for it to work. I don't know it that was normal or not. I never use it. Is yours not even opening up or what? I put a pin in and it allowed me to unlock when I put the correct pin in.

Just remember that this is still the titan phone. IMO the best rom experience so far for the titan is the 6.5 UI which is what the 23017 or even the 21872 builds are.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 com5 23504

I have not installed anything else on this 23504 rom. I have noticed that once it is in a low memory state the lock applicaiton via start/settings/lock will not activate. The lock application works fine otherwise. My testing procedure is in the Titan forum.

How do I readjust the tsk background? With the start menu on bottom, the background top portion is moved to the bottom of the screen. Also, is there any way to increase the size of the highlighted area of the desktop? I would like it to fill the entire desktop (minus the top and bottom bar area). This would kind of hide the other items on the desktop except for the one that is being looked at.

Its a nice ROM
