what does the bootloader "rainbow screen" say?
depending on what it says you phone could just be waiting for the new ROM to be flashed, if so I would STRONGLY suggest using the SD method to flash and make sure the SD card is in the phone before you launch the bootloader screen

Agreed. Personally, I had the best luck using the SD method as well, for both bootloader and radio ROM (plus already I had an assortment of Micro SD cards on hand to do it.) If you don't have one, you can buy a 1gb card for like 5 bucks now.

After that, I just let the kitchen upload the final software ROM itself as I never seem to have problems with it -- it's painlessly easy.

Respect to all the devs and hackers in this scene for their hard work in making this such an easy process for the curious n00bs. =D>

Either way flash any rom and you will be ok.....you can use SDcard method or RUU....I primarily flash via RUU...it is all personal choice.....just flash it and you will be up and running.....any rom you like...
