Re: NEW ALLTEL ROM 3.35 is now on HTC Site!!!
Here is what I found out regarding the GPS...
It shows activity if I load up Holux software and shows different satellites, however if I load up google maps it never locks on to a single one. Still testing other options so I will keep everyone up during my journey... |

Re: NEW ALLTEL ROM 3.35 is now on HTC Site!!!
My ROM with those files cooked into it seemed to have a problem where anytime I used the GPS, then shut off the phone (into standby), powered it back on, then tried to use the GPS again, it wouldn't ever find any satellites. I was able to reproduce this consistently. To get the GPS to work again, I needed to either press RESET or do a hard power off and reboot.
Has anyone experienced this behavior with the cab file? I did identify a fix (replacing one of the drivers), but if this problem doesn't affect anyone else, then I won't bother to make any changes to the cab. |

Re: NEW ALLTEL ROM 3.35 is now on HTC Site!!!
HI Alltel,
Thank you very much for this ROM. This ROM actually revised my phone. Well, anyway keep up w/ the good work. This ROM work really well for my phone. It's much FASTER then all the ROM i had used before. I have a couple question regarding to GPS. I'm still not able to have my GPS to work. I am using an Verizon XV6800. Currently, iam using your ROM w/ Radio 3.35. See alot of posted sayying this ROM will enable the GPS, but not for me. Can someone help me please. Also, after the installation of this ROM, it ran the Alltel Customize setup. How can I stop this Customize setup after flashing the ROM. Right now, when bootup, it's will show Alltel instead of Verizon. Thanks in advance. |

I guess I'm considered a fairy when compared to you guys, as I have no idea how to do that level of stuff. Any way I may be able to find the old ROM somewhere?

Hey gang. I'm obviously new to the site here. Great work you are doing, BTW. I own a similar website dedicated to the all but forgotten Casio BE300. We Hacked it to no end...lol If you care to, you can check it out here: http://be300.org
I have a Alltell PPC6800 with stock ROM. I have been trying to get the GPS radio working using GnatGoSplat's cab and the security 3 step fix. Maybe I missed something, but I get "looking for satellites" but it never finds any. Tried driving for 10 minutes, but still no luck. Do I need to flash to the new Alltel ROM and then apply the .cab? Or can I run this on the stock Alltel ROM? Thanks in advance! |

Re: NEW ALLTEL ROM 3.35 is now on HTC Site!!!
I installed this yesterday and it solved all of my problems. I dont want to make it sound like you have to have it. I had a few other problems with my phone, like it wouldnt authenticate. I installed the new radio and also Vetvitos pill over the black which has GPS and Im happy to report somehow all of my problems are gone. I used to get errors all over the place, now everything is good.
On a side note, I wasnt aware that Vetvito had GPS cooked into his Black rom, I installed gnatsplats GPS concoction and the phone would auto-reset every 2-3 minutes. I had to uninstall it. So if you are using Vetvitos ROM you dont need the GPS cabs. Overall I like it. My only complaint is that alltel splash screen, but I knew it was there before I upgraded. Otherwise dsl reports shows 936 kb/sec on EVDO so Im happy. my wifi was only pulling 1036 and thats 5 meg hsi. Heres a screenshot I didnt capture the 936 but as you can tell this is close..
