Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I've been tinkering a bit with my phone, and somehow managed to get crappy battery life (as in 6 hours with no usage). I've noticed that during the time that it gets "eaten away" the data indicator in the signal indicator (the two arrows) are on, instead of the "antenna". I've been playing with it to try to get it to stop, but it isnt. I can't stop it with holding the end key, or choosing disconnect on the evdo icon. I'm still not sure what program is causing the problem. Just a thought for others who might be having battery issues. (i may have found the problem just now, but i wont know for sure for a bit longer)

Earlier in this thread (first page perhaps), someone mentioned a situation where the data connection was not releasing. He provided information on what one would need to do. Did you see the posting?

Yeah, and forgot about it (i open multiple tabs when i surf, so sometimes i forget why i open certain posts).

Edit: Part of it is seeing WHAT is trying to access the data so i know. I like to know things.
Need to find something to tell me whats accessing it. bleh.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I heard the inaccurate reading theory - possibly the battery is showing incorrect percentages. I thought of that myself.
You know how laptops have that option to sync the battery to get a true reading out of it? Well we can't do that exactly, but did anyone ignore the low battery warnings and let the phone die? Just to make sure the phone doesn't actually run strong at 0% for a full day.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I think it has to do with the battery without a doubt.... Because I installed the new downloads for the Mogul through Sprint and I get a day 1/2 of battery life even if I use the phone a lot through the day Including calling people and checking emails and sending email ect..

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I haven't been having any battery issues with the new ROM. I'm running GMaps and Live Search with GPS, SPB Pocket Plus 4.0, SPB Phone Suite, SPB Diary, SPB Insight, BT always on for my headset and for kicks, I leave MSReader open with my latest eBook, and I get at least a full day, but usually I end the day with 40% battery life remaining. I'm also using it as a PDA constantly throughout the day with the occasional phone call interrupting. I wish I could contribute to figuring out why you guys are having issues. I do know that if I hit a 1X section for my data the battery drops like a rock, but even with EVDO constantly connected i'm not noticing a difference from 2.17 other than this ROM is so much more freakin stable

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I've noticed somewhat crappy battery life. I use HTC Home Plugin (customized w/ HHC, don't know if that actually makes a difference, but whatever), Mobile Shell 2.0, and PocketBreeze. E-mail is sent and received every half hour. Data connection automatically shuts off after 10 minutes (Thanks to Schap's Advanced Config). That's about it, really. I'm running No2Chem's 5054 (for awhile, it seemed as though he was releasing minor updates every day or two, so I decided it wouldn't be worth the pain and heartbreak of reflashing every day for each update - haha) with 3.35.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

Im running No2Chem's 5055. My WiFi has been on all day and my battery life is only down to 84%.

I have not used anything else, but I dont have a cell signal, so the phone occaisionally picks up, searchs for signal, then stops. GPS to my knowledge has not been on. Tomorrow Ill turn GPS on and see how long it takes to run down.
