Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
The flashing of the Sprint update is what gets you the new Radio. The official Rom update has both a Radio and a Rom. Once you finish with the Sprint one, then you will flash your custom Rom of choice, with no radio, over the Sprint Rom you just put in place.

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
Great thread, worked like a charm!!
I loaded no2chems 5060 without issue I didn't even have to reset my A-key!!!! Hopefully this fixes the issues I was having with dcd 2.1.0 |

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
OK, quick question...
After doing the Sprint ROM upgrade (Verizon VX6800) is is necessary to do a custom rom immediately or can I use the sprint rom to use the phone on Verizon and play with the GPS and make/receive calls for a while before doing the custom rom IE; not2chem 506x? |

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
Thanks for the EASY GUIDE!!! I am fairly new. Screwed my phone up more than once learning all this cool stuff, but I followed these directions and all is well. THANKS AGAIN!!!!
It would be nice to have a VZW only thread as it is difficult to decipher the SPrint only applications from the VZ stuff |

Sprint Update and VZW Success?
Has anyone on VZW had success in installing the 2.03 PRI from Sprint and kept their voice/data on VZW?

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
The PRI will not help with gps unless you are on sprint. Don't do it its a pain to manually restore data and you will always have a roaming icon up. I have a xv6800 with sprint radio 3.35 on it and running dcd 3.04 with the vzw PRI on it it gets faster gps lock and aGPS works. My backup is a sprint 6800 converted to vzw running the exact same build the only difference is it still has the sprint PRI on it as there is no known verizon one released(am waiting for vzw official update) and the gps takes about 2-3 minutes longer to lock and doesn't get aGPS.

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
Good day,
I had to reinstall my Verizon ROM. I'm not sure what happened. What I would like to know is there an easy way to copy/download my 6800's ROM so I can try again without having to call Verizon to activate my phone? I've read post that state to write down the A-Key, but I don't see anything in the text box to copy. I thought that if I could backup my own ROM to a file, that I could push it back should I need to later without dealing with Verizon. All help is appreciated... |
