No, the original stock ROM will not work with the new radio.

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
Ok I managed to flash to nu2's 5058 pre fix. Here are my two questions. How can I put mms back on the phone and also now it says it cannot authenticate my phone so no text messages can be sent out or received along with calls cannot be sent out or received. What do I do now?

i really love my phone the way i have it set up now. i've been customizing it for weeks, and it works just great.. emails, mms, progs, regedits, etc... I've been doing a ton of reading and seems folks still have a myriad of issues with the DCD 3.0.1 ROM, and 2.3.2 may be a little more stable.. but i'm not a fan of having any issues whatsoever, so i just can't stop thinking to myself if a flash would even be worth it to me.. my main goal is just to enable GPS.. thats it. but i don't know if i'd be happy with a working GPS and a not-working 'other stuff', like so many people are posting about.. anyone have an opinion on a 'almost' stock looking new (verizon) rom, that would work with the new sprint radio ? i read so much about DCD and NUE, but if there are any others, they are buried and i've missed them.. i have OCD and i know i'd just be pulling my hair out over the next several weeks trying to hammer out all the little issues if i went with the 3.0.1 ROM... versus right now - with zero issues, but no GPS ![]()

Thanks guys,
I followed these instructions and updated my phone to DCD. I had to call vzw to get them to reauthenticate my phone but seems to work now |

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
So after reading through many threads on upgrading the ROM, I did it using this one. I successfully got olipro-2.4.0 installed, then the Sprint ROM, then dcd 3.0.1.
The phone boots up just fine, and I'm dumped into WM6.1 welcome screen. A voicemail icon popped up, so I tried to call but I got the verizon recording saying that they are "unable to authenticate" my phone. Does this mean I need to call and get a new A-key? Or did I miss a step? I re-entered the MDN and MSID, but still nothing. Should I try *228 options 1 or 2? Thanks! EDIT: also, when I try to send a text to myself through vzw's website, it gives a "message undeliverable" message on the website. EDIT2: so I tried *228 option 1 and now Verizon Wireless shows up as the carrier on the start screen, but still can't call out. Guess I'll call to get a new akey UPDATE: called TS, fixed. I don't know what they did, but I didn't have to enter an A-key, just rebooted the phone and did *228 option 1 after they did some stuff on their side?
