i'm using the stock EB13 with the camera fix kernel flashed over it. I don't use any app killers. I do the airplane mode trick when I reboot. With normal use I am at about 40% after about 16 hours of use, which seems fine for a smartphone.

If i don't do the airplane mode trick I'll have a dead battery after 8 hours.

Of course if I play angry birds for an hour I'll kill 20% of the battery. But I haven't had unreasonable battery life.

from what gten says, you no longer have to do the airplane mode trick.

This is not rocket science.....if you are seeing that abnormal behavior.....then obviously you have battery/hardware issues....has nothing to do with the build....even if you flash a custom rom and it gets somewhat better....your problems will surely come back eventually...

Well it seemed to not be needed in DK28....but I truly think it is back in EB13....either way...takes 2 seconds to do...

Take it back to Sprint and tell them that the OTA screwed up your phone. They will give you a new one.

cool story bros. I really don't feel like driving an hour to the sprint store, waiting there for an hour, and then an hour back to my house. When I went there 20 times for my mogal/tp/tp2 keyboards dying, I didn't have a big problem cause I would visit my grandmother. since she died last month, I don't have a reason to go there.

Anyhow, I flashed midnight rom last night.
This morning, I'm getting a drain of about 10% an hour with it mostly in my pocket.
DRM isn't killed
JuiceDefender off
Since I just wanted some sort of baseline. 7:21 (100%) to 10:21 (72%)

To give you something to compare to, here's my battery usage today:

6:30 - 100% - took it off the charger
9:37 - 87%

-Just finished a 30 minute run using my phone as my MP3 player.
-DRM is frozen with Titanium Backup
-Don't have Juice Defender installed anymore
-I always keep wifi turned on in my house or anywhere there is a wifi signal I can use

If your battery issues continue I bet if you call Sprint and explain your situation to them you can get them to mail you a new phone along with a pre-paid box to send the old one back to them.

oh, one other thing... I have 2 knockoff batteries and 1 real battery.
I put a knockoff in the phone and charged the real battery on the wall-charger so this is on a knock off battery. I will switch them at noon.

If I do that sprint magic, won't they give me a refurb and not a new one? That's why I don't want to go to the repair shop near my house, they always have to order one and it's a refurb.

I can't freeze via titanium cause I don't have the $$ version.

Honestly, it depends on the rep you talk to. They can do whatever they want. When I exchanged mine I asked the Sprint rep if I was going to get a new phone or a refurb, and she told me she was going to make a point to order a brand new phone in the box. So as a bonus I got to keep all my accessories so now I have 2 usb cables, 2 batteries and 2 chargers. If you have TEP the whole thing is free. If not they will charge you $35.00. I didn't have insurance on my first handset but in my case it was worth it. My menu button didn't work and it drove me crazy. (I added TEP on this one!)
