That said you may just want to use the EB13 Tool..it effectively does same thing but step by step guide is included..
I thought so, but am still nervous after assuming I knew what to do in the past has turned a quick upgrade into a long ordeal. As Johnny.Bravo wrote, the tool is upgrading for dummies, which sounds like it fits me. I will try it using ODIN since I did it before, I should be able to do it again. If not, I will submit to my dummy-hood and use the EB13 tool.
ADDED QUESTION: If I flash the Default Stock Dual FS kernel For EB1 as Dameon has in his instructions, I still need flash the stock Froyo upgrade before install MidNIGHT ROM 4.2?

I flashed the new ROM and it works. Thanks so much. I flashed a theme. All seems to be working (so far). Next weekend I will have have time to write down in greater detail how to do this for other Dummies. Someone did that for version 3.2 and it made it easier. You folks know more a lot and a re a great help. I just want to have the smart phone I thought I was buying in the first place. Now I can get back to the work I was supposed to be doing.

Thanks. All seems to be working real well and even better in most cases than 3.3. (e.g. voice command and GPS). I am interested in the battery life question.

You mention flashing Rob's kernel after the ROM 4.2 , where do I find that?

Rob's kernel is built in and will install when you flash the rom. What Darren was referring to was flashing the dual kernel which is pretty pointless with this rom/kernel package.

If you want to save a little extra on the battery you can use SetCPU to change the max CPU speed from 1.2 to 1.0 so you can take advantage of the undervolting of the CPU. I'm still getting a full day with it maxed out.

Just to correct you... 4.2 is a bonsai build. Battery life is great. Much better than stock imo.
