7. DO NOT REBOOT!!!!
8. IF YOU ARE ON AN ODEXED ROM (DEFAULT OTA) THEN YOU NEED TO REFLASH A ROM AFTER THE CONVERSION!!!!!!! ODEXED ROMS DO NOT GET RESTORED PROPERLY!
9. Flash the Default Stock Dual FS kernel For EB13: http://efragtv.com/android/EB13-DUALFS-KERNEL.zip

I dont get those three to putting the recovery on my phone and all

Seems odd that this would be a Sprint issue. If so, why no complains elsewhere?
Just upgrading to 4.2 - Hoping the above issue will... go away!

Re: [ROM] midNIGHT ROM v4.2 (BYOR Edition) 3/9/2011

Thanks. Can you pint me to a link that will tell me how to Odin to EB13. Actually, I just need the right download. I saw a few on xda-developers. I found these instructions, is this correct?
Last Resort (Easiest)
 1. Download Epic4G_FroyoUpgrade_EB13_Tool.exe
 2. Install the file
 3. Run “SWUpgrade for SPH-D700″
 4. Follow the directions
 5. Congratulations! You now have “EB13″ Android 2.2.1 on your Samsung Epic 4G by Sprint!
Thanks

In response to what Johnny was saying. It does happen. It's not a ROM issue per say, it's a Froyo issue. Someone did a write up about it. It has to do with the proximity sensors being buggy. If you toggle the speaker phone it works again. I have not seen this myself since DK28 but it wouldn't shock me if Samsung left that little present in EB13 for us.
This post has been thanked 1 times.

FYI--Instruction# 3 on Rob's Android Development page for the ROM 4.2 states:
"Copy the midNIGHT ROM v4.0 (BYOR Edition) to your SD card." I assume he meant 4.2 to clarify
Anon9mouz's question.

Thanks, GD

Wow.. You guys caught that. It was just a typo. I'm brain dead and have really been pushing to get this thing ready... Quite a few LATE NIGHTS..... I need to take a break before I keep making mistakes. lol

Yes you should upgrade to CW3.0.0.6. Not a big deal really, especially if you are already on CW3 and EXT4. If you are on a DK28 ROM you will need to odin the EB13 modem.... Thats it. Then flash away.....

I have had the same problem once I switched from MidNIGHT ROM 3.2 to 3.3. Once I see that the call has started and i have not heard ringing, I switch to speaker phone and then turn it off and I can speak and hear. Not ideal. Hope there is a fix.

Re: [ROM] midNIGHT ROM v4.2 (BYOR Edition) 3/9/2011

Thanks again for the excellent hard work and new midNIGHT ROM!

Had a problem the first time around. Did a clean install odin back to EB13, running CW3.0.0.6, then flashing midNIGHT ROM. Boot screen looked weird showing "android" over Samsung logo. Rebooted, but then at the lock screen, it would reboot into a black "android" screen. I flashed v4.2 again after wiping x3 and now I see the right midNIGHT Rom boot screen. I think I had this similar problem when I first installed another build, don't know why though. Anyways, working good so far. I think I had to wipe x3 after the CW3 conversion and before midNIGHT Rom v4.2 flash to prevent this problem.
