Re: midNIGHT ROM DK28 (Froyo) v2.1.1 New Theme 12/26/2010

Since this is my first Froyo ROM, I am not sure, but is threaded text the default and no way to change it back?

Never liked threaded text nor the colors that are used. I prefer the standard lined text, but that is just me.

So I ended up wiping whole thing 3 times (data and cache) then flash midnight's new stock 2.2.1 and restore everything (not just data and sd-ext) I restore everything... as it turns out, all my sd apps are there. Just one of my games... dungeon hunter came fired up said "this is not original copy" But I uninstalled/reinstalled it and everything seems perfectly working.

I see a lot of us, not just me flash from rom to rom and you are correct on the compatibility issue.

Surprisingly you're not being mean
+1
Also a good idea if issues are arising that are not for others......is format sd card.....the sd card on these can become corrupt very easily....mount/unmount etc....can cause corruption....not a bad idea to format every so often...

Thanks. Im not sure what it is with my phone. This mod affected all connections on my phone. Ran the above file now my 4g is 7m dn and 1.2m up. the original file affected 3g, 4g and wifi speeds. I also un installed typoclock. it kept popping up a force close error. The rom is 100% smooth sailing now. I won't use another factory rom unless its cooked in you kitchen 1st. Thanks Again.

For the record Darren I've been wondering whether you're mellowing in your old age.

Okay, I am sure this has been covered previously but I can't find it...

If I'm currently on 2.0.9 do I need to WIPE DATA/Cache/Dalvik 3x before installing 2.1.1 via clockwork? If I just install 2.1.1 will it keep my current settings and/or configuration or has so much changed that I'll need to wipe everything?

The one thing to remember is that was a system app changed in this build. That is why people are having FC's with the email. I didn't think about it at the time. But if you are getting force closes in this build after upgrading without wiping simply clear the applications cache. That will resolve the issue majority of the time.

I are really glad you guys are enjoying this ROM. It gives me something to do. I am really hoping we get a new leak or even the official release soon. It's nice to have something new to work with.

On an unrelated note you guys should give a look at noobnl CM ROM. Even the the prebeta stages this thing is AMAZING. He has made a ton of progress. AOSP is the way to go. Once it becomes more stable and is released that will probably be the direction I will move it. All the TW crap is a nightmare to work with.

Thanks again for everything.......
