Re: Sprint Epic 4g Is Official!!!!! (Galaxy S Pro)

why we bashing Samsung?? the 'A series' models several years back: a900

a920

and the a940

sure not smartphones, but these devices could barely stay in stock with sprint.. the a940 had months were it was backordered it sold so well.. Samsung brought multi-angle cameras, little bit better media player, real storage card access(could actually go find your DL'd file and install it-not the case on most dumbphones)..

so Samsung isnt all bad, maybe the missed the bar a few times on smartphones, but that just means their due... and SPRINT wouldve picked the instinct, so blame them if its such a crappy phone, afterall SPRINT picked it for their flagship, samsung didnt force their hands..

as for arguing people, get over it.. not ONE of you has actual pertinent info on the EPIC.. NOONE does.. until the device drops, noone has a clue if its gonna be a good phopne or not...

there were alot of doubters on the Evo too.. "i cant wait till i see everyone complaing" you know what, people said the same about the TP1 over the diamond-tp1 turned out dope(aside from physical flaws-but hey winMO6.5 was completed 6months b4 MS did it, and with a TP1).. haters bagged on the TP2 over the Tp1(more "cant wait to see complainers" shit) and TP2 is dope also...

now you guys move onto the EPIC-"watch it suck".. do you guys get off on being so negative about every device launch, or is it you arent eligible for an upgrade or cant afford it, so the device just has to suck so you dont feel sorry for yourself when u dont have one and the masses do..

the EPIC will be good, im sure, sprint knows after the EVO they have a new "standard" to live upto.. they know the masses will tear them apart if its not upto the EVOs level..especially if they do tack on a $10 cool fee on the Epic as well...

Epic will serve who it needs to, maybe its not for everyone... plenty of people thought the Instincts were just fine... they just obviously werent hackers..

Epic can and will be whatever someone wants to make it.. it Android, highly customizable.. dont like something, change it..

wanna gripe all day about cell phones not meeting "your standards", then i suggest you go to college and learn how to make cell phones yourself, seems to be the only way some of you would be happy!

Because Samsung has never really had "great" offerings.

Pick up a Samsung moment and try to use it for a month. The "airplane mode" or "CDMA lockup" happens enough to make one want to burn down Samsung headquarters.

It's true though. No one knows what the epic will be like (except all of those Samsung Galaxy S and variant owners out there), but Samsung's track record is enough to make me gun shy.

Have you seen HTC first android phone? it had a ton of issues as well...

So far the Galaxy S seems to be doing well..there are a few issues going around but 99% of them are fixable...

Also Sprint always has the 30 day thing so you can always return it if anything...

I understand that phones have issues period. But none have been as "fatal" as Samsung's offerings on Sprint. Granted, they aren't their Tier I line of phones, but if they can't get it right with their basic phones, how am I supposed to have faith in their Premium Offerings?

The crazy thing is that a common complaint with just about all of Samsung phones on sprint (save for a few clamshell phones) is the freezing of the phone requiring frequent battery pulls.

Use a Moment for a Month. Tell me that it's flaws are ok because other manufacturers have flaws. Use a Rant. Use an exclaim.

The Epic may be a great product, and we'll see based on how the Galaxy is doing elsewhere, but Samsung has already one gun shy customer.

The difference between a basic offering and a Premium is HUGE...remember that unlike the carrier..manufacturers make money when they sell a product...on a basic low end offering they would opt to use the cheapest materials possible to get it out the door...

A Premium offering is something you plan to create a "brand" for..which involves a more expensive price tag in return for customer loyalty to the brand....

Remember..many products you buy today from cellphones to computers are manufactured with samsung components...even the popular iphone, many of the components are made by samsung...

Again, you are missing the point. If their other offering are plagued with issues, regardless if they are premium are not, what incentive do consumers have to open their wallets even wider?

Not sure what you would consider the instinct, but Sprint was pushing it as a Flagship phone and it was rife with issues.

If Samsung tried to defend themselves as you are (It's a cheap phone, not a premium phone, expect it to be crappy, and so what if it doesn't work) they would have some serious PR issues on their hand.

It is a cheap phone...Sprint was the one that pushed it, not Samsung...if anything Omnia > Instinct...

Instinct isn't even a smartphone, it has the same OS as the dumbphones samsung releases...it just had a touch screen and Sprint is like "ooh lets make it face the iphone"..it was pretty sad...what made the iphone money was it earned a % of the revenue of the contract, thus lowering its cost...

There is a saying..you get what you pay for...If you are getting aa phone fore 50$ - 100$ or even free and you expect it to be top grade your pushing it...

And as I said..outside of phone samsung makes some pretty good products...have you seen their TVs? they are #1 at the moment...

If they are going to make a premium brand I think they should at least be given a chance...thats why we got the 30 day policy from sprint no?
