A Premium offering is something you plan to create a "brand" for..which involves a more expensive price tag in return for customer loyalty to the brand....

Remember..many products you buy today from cellphones to computers are manufactured with samsung components...even the popular iphone, many of the components are made by samsung...
Again, you are missing the point. If their other offering are plagued with issues, regardless if they are premium are not, what incentive do consumers have to open their wallets even wider?

Not sure what you would consider the instinct, but Sprint was pushing it as a Flagship phone and it was rife with issues.

If Samsung tried to defend themselves as you are (It's a cheap phone, not a premium phone, expect it to be crappy, and so what if it doesn't work) they would have some serious PR issues on their hand.
