Re: Official ROM IS HERE!!!
I have SPB Backup, and it will overwrite important ROM update info even in ROM update mode, taking you back to the earlier ROM, sort of defeating the idea of the flash to a new ROM. Great idea, though, if they ever get it right.

Re: Official ROM IS HERE!!!
So is there any reason to flash to this update or should i just stick with the old CF03 and a cooked ROM? All i am really looking for is GPS and ample storage.

CF03 is the new one...CC20 was the old one. I would flash to CF03 because aGPS is enabled. Then Flash to a new cooked ROM based off of the CF03

Re: Official ROM IS HERE!!!
Ok, i will do that. Is aGPS better? not trying to thread hijack here, just curious. also, to install the new version, do i use the udml or is there a process, my comp at work will not let me access the site the instructions are on. Thanks in advance.

Re: Official ROM IS HERE!!!
Okay for CF03 just use the official .EXE that you can get from the link at the beginning of this thread. To upgrade to a cooked ROM you still use UMDL and flash PDA portion like always. And the aGPS is helpful because it gets you a general lock (not super accurate but fairly close) while the standard GPS locks.

You know, I am so freaking disturbed right now. The good news it that verizon sent me out another phone on Friday. I made sure that I followed the instructions on saturday when the phone came. The upgrade began smoothly. The upgrade got up to 60% and stalled for 20 min. I called Samsung and asked them guide me through the next phase. I was told that I needed a level 2 technician. I said "great, can you connect me". A resounding "no" came back. There are not tech 2's working on Saturday and Sunday !!!!! The Samsung rep told me to take out the data cable and call back on Monday...Needless to say I bricked another phone. Is there a way to do this on windows Vista 64 bit? In compatibility mode I don't have the xp service pack 2 option I see in some posts. DETAILED instructions would be greatly appreciated. |
