Re: Beta rom
Wow. I am right there with syrguy. Except I have XP and it still won't work. I have downloaded everything, installed the driver, disabled USB in Active Sync, set the Omnia to "As the modem through USB" had the PC tell me it found and installed the new drivers for USB, ran the UMDL, selected the "unified image file" tried every conceivable method of turning off and pressing Detect and plugging in (plugging the omnia in ALWAYS turns it on by itself), and it will not detect the phone. It just sits there. After disconnecting and reconnecting the phone, the download log reads several "usbDev open failed" messages with 1 "PDA device not found" message. Or it still says that if I connect the OFF phone after pressing Detect. The phone still turns itself on by itself, but the UMDL can't detect it.
Edit: Gotta make sure the Phone is OFF (hold the button DOWN.)

Re: Beta rom
Sounds like there is a medley of instructions in there, some from the PST method, some from the UMDL.
Did you install the modem driver from the VZAccess CD? |

Re: Beta rom
if/when VZW finally deems us worthy of an official release, will the process of upgrading be similar to the beta upgrade, or will there be some sort of streamlined process. Since I have never upgraded any previous phone, I am curious about the process. =)
