I have Vito sms chat installed, but its lack of integration means I tend to not use it as much as outlook.

That is the same app the author of that tweak used. If you followed the registry path correctly and entered in exactly as he did (WITH the quotes...I messsed that part up at first) you should be working great.....would the screen shots he posted help at all?

It works...just wrong button. Im sure it has to do with Today 2.

I typed it verbatim.

As long as it works to your liking I guess that is what counts!!

I know this will sound redundant, but you DO use SPB Mobile Shell....right?

Newp. Its not integrated enough for me.

Here is a PPC tweak, but done on Windows Vista.

Want your phone picture to show up under your sync profile in Windows Mobile Device Center?

Simply navigate C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Acti veSync\Profiles\"profile number"

Replace the generic sync icon with one of your Omnia. Then reconnect the device.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Note that the file must be in ico formart and named sync.ico.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Thanks for that one, I am sure there will be a lot of happy Vista users out there (I haven't been able to part with XP yet LOL).

About the integration tweak...I did notice one peculiar behavior....I had my native MMS/email app open and 'closed' it. With SMS after that the text button opened the native text app not PocketCM. I opened a task manager and closed the MMS app (for real this time) and went back to the home screen and hit the text icon and PocketCM opened again!!! Odd behavior, but as long as it is known, workable I guess!!

Save battery life and memory.

We all know how activesync is a PITA to close, and somethimes will downright refuse to.

This utility kills it off after a sync, automatically.

Install, and soft reset.

ASyncKiller

Edit: Jury is still out on this one. It works, but AS is back up when the phone resumes from Sleep.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

DO NOT DO THIS TWEAK IF YOU USE XT9! IT DISABLES IT!

Always backup your registry first before tweaking.

Still testing this one. The tweak is originally for the HTC TP, and Diamond but it seems to be working for the Omnia soft kb too (or perhaps its a placebo effect). Either way, it stops me from accidently switching to xT9 all the time. Use at your own risk.

Make keyboard less laggy

Go to start, settings, input.

Choose Samsung Keyboard, and click options. Go to xt9 settings and disable everything.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e001 0409

Modify the values to be this:

Ime File="windows\compime.dll"
Layout Text="COMP IME"

Click ok, wait about 20 seconds and soft reset.

Is there a way to change eliminate the new email notification? I know I am getting email since I have configured my Omnia to show all my folders from my Outlook on my desktop. I know there is mail but I don't want another icon popping up on the screen to let me know.

Adrynalyne 01-14-2009 11:16 PM

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Yup.

Its not really a hack though. Go to start, settings, Sounds and Notifications. Click on Notifcations.

Event: Messaging: New Email message.

Uncheck Display message on screen.

Hey guys, I've been scouring the boards for a few days looking for something I was sure I saw here a little while ago and I can't seem to find it.
So does anyone know the reghack to extend haptic to spbms or other programs other than the samsung ui?
Also, do any spbms users know the name of the clock that I've seen in screenshots that has big numbers in two seperate boxes? I believe syrguy1969 and someone else had posted screenshots with this clock and I think I've gone through every clock option in spbms and can't seem to find that one. Thanks for any help I can get.

I'm not sure if you're thinking of what I think you are, but it sounds like you may be talking about the manila 2d today screen, which has the clock displayed in 2 seperate white boxes. if so here is a link:

http://winmo.sztupy.hu/m2daio.html

its a heft install if this is really what you're after. ill see if i can find a screen shot.

edit:

http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/6139/diamond2jf9.gif

is it something like that? there is also a theme for SPB mobile shell that will make it look like this.

The clock you are referring to is the Diamond Digital. Within the imarche skins for SPBms there are 4 types (Black, Opaque, Transparent and White)
I can extract / zip these if you want and put them on here as the .dat files are password protected ?

Thanks Adrynalyne.
DJ thats the one. I guess I havn't been through every option like I thought.
dopepope I forgot to mention that I'm using the imarche skins for spbms so I had the clock in there all along. Thanks for the tip though.

It's getting as to where I'm out of a job around here LOL!!!! Great support coming from Adrynalyne, dopepope and DJRedLine!!!!

About the only thing I can add to their posts is the fact that since your using iMarche's skinning app, you most likely know about the background generator he developed (on his site). If you decide to look into that, saving the images to be compatible with it is tough to figure out....if you need any help, I can convert them for you (I found a good app!!).

I just wanted to thank smilepak for getting my message about the Registry tweaks file posted at his site: http://knguyentu.com/wordpress/2009/...900-unleashed/ (prior to 1/15/09 update - now fixed) as it seems this was the culprit to my previous loss of touch screen problem I was posting about in the other thread. Again, the file is now fixed!

Great compilation of tweaks on his site. I highly recommend it.

I was referring to saving the .net program update. Really any program for that matter. I am confused as to wether I should be saving programs on the device itself or My Storage. I know some programs can go onto My Storage and others need to run on the device. Just not sure which ones belong where.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

save as much as you can to your storage, if something doesnt work when you install it to your storage, uninstall it and reinstall it to your device. however if it gives you the option to install it to storage it should usually work to install it there.

Something like .net is a considerable system change, I would install to the Device.

TYpically I go by the rule of thumb of anything that is making a considerable system change vs. an application, I put in Device Memory.

is there any significant performance difference in device vs. storage?

Not that I have been able to tell. You would think so, though.

I do what I do mostly for stability reasons though.

I agree with and usually follow this rule as well, but I have found one of the strong qualities of the Omnia is that with the 8GB onboard memory, it seems more stable than a memory card. I have apps installed on My Memory that absolutly wouldn't work on my 700wx's memory card.

I am not suggesting ALL apps are OK on My Memory, but the Omnia does seem to give us more freedom of choice!

Has anyone done the "improve touch sensitivity" reg edit and did you notice an improvement? Can you confirm the setting of click---2000 and down/up---750 are the best settings? Is it too sensitive at these levels?

I'm wondering if it's just me, but when i use the Touch Player, it does not update any music that I have stored on the Storage Card. WM player is able to play music from the Storage Card. Anyone else had this problem?
