Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

Am I the only one who has noticed neither usbmodem nor pdanet 1.80 can get connected to the internet to share the internet with a computer with the samsung intrepid?

I was able to do it with the same software on both q and q9, but it seems to never connect when I try with usbmodem/pdanet on the intrepid.

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

I don't know about USBmodem or pdanet, but I just added stock tethering info to Post 1. If you have issues with other programs I would suggest starting a new thread, because the discussion is liable to get buried in here. If you come up with anything concrete (i.e., certain programs do or do not work) I'll add it to post 1.

haus -

I'm trying to follow your steps for the reprogramming of the softkey using regedit, but it keeps telling me that it can't open the file that it is not signed or missing a component. Any suggestions?

Along the same lines, I was wondering if there was a way to make program the key to make the phone go into standby instead of "lock". I usually just use standby but sometimes power down the phone on accident by pushing the power button too long. I think I could figure it out if I knew the shortcut/program that triggered standby.

I have no idea what your issue #1 is. Please post the exact error message you are receiving.

For the second question, my solution does lock and suspend. I seriously recommend lock and suspend. Windows Mobile is a terrible platform for pocket dialing if your device is not locked. Even when it was locked with the old style WM6.1 lock, any incoming call or SMS message would unlock the phone in your pocket and leave keys enabled. You're inviting disaster to leave a phone like this unlocked at any time. Even if you don't end up pocket dialing 911 and not realizing it until they are busting your door down, you may end up draining your battery with errant button presses and screen taps.

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

"The File 'Devicelock' cannot be opened. Either is is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

I've tried pointing the registry to different places/files, but keep getting the same error. Device Lock is working just fine, as I can change the settings, and access it from the start menu.

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

DId you spell it "Devicelock" or "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Device Lock.lnk"?

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

Well, I tried it that way before and couldn't get it to work...performing a soft reset whenever I changed the registry. However I changed it back to "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Device Lock.lnk" and it worked like a charm. Must be user error...

Thanks!

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

I do have to say, I test everything I post. Not that I don't make mistakes, but that's why I moved my thread here from SU...over there you can't edit your posts, and it makes for really frustrating reading when you can't simply update things. Glad you got it working.

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

Got another question...where did you find an English version of DHR LockDevice 1.6? I can only find...Chinese...I think.

Good catch, it's harder to find than I thought.

I'll update my post on page 1 with that URL.
