Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

Haus,

This is CONFUSING as can be. I found everything I thought could be the issue, but nothing worked.

\HKCU\Software\Samsung\Camera

all the *Sound's I set to 0.

\HKLM\System\Pictures\Camera\OEM - blanked soundfile, put shuttersoundvolume = 0

- I'd like to mute both the shutter sound and the beep on the focus, if possible.

Also, the sound files are in \windows\ but apparently cannot be deleted.

This is sort of like the poweroff.wav thing. I deleted the reference that you mentioned to poweroff.wav in registry and it still plays on soundoff. I did the same thing with shutter01.wav. It's like these things are referenced somewhere else other than the registry, and we can't delete the .wav files.

Yes, unfortunately not everything can be controlled by the registry. That's where ROM chefs come in handy, but I haven't cooked a ROM in years and I wouldn't know where to begin with this device!

I'll take a look at it when I can.

Why are all your phones acting differently than mine, LOL! Maybe we should return them all and get touch pros.

I'm not able to do any troubleshooting or testing things for a couple of days, I'm just trying to keep up with the forum a bit.

I was getting the 2 beeps while in call and I get an SMS. I was actually having a problem with my MMS not downloading and took it to Sprint and they said my device was not working right and they gave me a new one so I gotta go make all my changes again! I hope I don't have the same issues.

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

Is anyone else having the problem with using BING as a GPS that it does not beep for turns? This was not a problem using it with my Moto Q9c, so I'm wondering if I turned off some sound.

I get sound when I use the speaking portion of it, but it no longer beeps when I need to make a turn.

Re: Backlight Dimming Fix

Thank you for fixing these minor to major irritations. Any possibility of getting version 1 of the Backlight dimmer fix?

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

You're welcome; I'm happy to have a chance to give back to this community.

What do you mean by "version 1"? What are you looking for specifically...I went as high as 0.2 and it's working fine for me so I left it as-is. I figured people could modify it to their liking and post updates. If anyone comes across anything mind-blowing with respect to the backlight (like how to make the sensor work consistently and not cause the scale to get shifted once in awhile) then I'd be happy to keep updating it.

You might want to post that in the software thread, as it's not Intrepid specific. Just a suggestion; lots more users of WM phones in general than the Intrepid.

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

Can anyone confirm if setting HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\FullCharging\ script to blank worked for them. I did it, and think that I still get the sound. Hard to tell cause I don't get the notification popup.

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks

Thanks for trying it out. As I noted, I only charge at night in silent mode, and I definitely do not get the sound. I always get the notification (though no popup), because every morning my phone says "notification" in the lower left and when I click it, it says "Battery fully charged. Unplug the charger" or something like that.

Next time I'll be at my desk for awhile I'll plug in a charger and see what happens.
