Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks
Windows is a big folder and takes time to load. If your PC isn't all that fast, it'll take awhile. Have you tried giving it a couple of minutes? My overclocked Core2 duo takes about 20 seconds to list the contents. Most of that delay is probably the phone's weak CPU trying to send that information.

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks
Thanks for the replies, Haus, but I'm still getting a sound when I make a call, after dialing when I hit the Green phone button to call someone, I get a single "ding!" every time.
I also can't get the startup/shutdown sounds to turn off permanently. |

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks
I get a ding on a call too. Haven't found a way to prevent that one.
I got all the startup/shutdown sounds but one shutdown sound to stop. I'll post what I did in post 1 (I thought it had transferred over, but I must have missed it). Virtual bounty for anyone who manages to get the shutoff sound to stop playing when the phone isn't in vibrate or silent mode. Edit: first post updated with stopping 3 out of the 4 startup sounds. Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks
I just turned off the bing when you initiate a call..
the problem is, I don't know if it was removing the p for InCallBuzz or Dialing, as I removed the p for both. I'd like SOME Kind of notification that I'm getting another call or text when I'm on the phone, but not like the default where it's playing this loud music file in my ear. Does anyone know how to change the default bt browse dir, in my case, to the storage card? |

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks
dpadctl is the really annoying one (to me). I think removing the "dialing" one will stop the initiate-call beep. I'll mess around with them and test.
Edit: so far setting the "script" for "dialing" to blank removes the connect beep. I thought I'd seen an option to do this somewhere else within a control panel, but maybe I'm dreaming that. Then I sent myself a text message while I was on a call, and notify.wav played 3 times in my ear. I'm not sure if it's because I had 2 emails plus a text (sum of 3 notifications) or if it played 3 times for some other reason. More testing to come. Last edited by haus; 11-10-2009 at 09:30 PM. |

I am trying the same thing as we speak, I tried the script for the dial pad, didn't do anything. |

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks
I'm not sure what dialpadctlkey means. There's no control key that I know of, and thankfully I haven't heard that dpadctlkey sound since turning off phone keypad sounds and (just now) making that change to the "dialing" registry entry.
I think simply removing the "p" from the script entry of "dialing" gets you what you want - namely, no loud dialing beep, but you get a sound file when an SMS comes in while you're on the phone. Next step is to change the value of 'notify.wma' inside: HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\InCallBuzz to something else and see if it changes that sound. EDIT: WORKS I changed HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\InCallBuzz Sound = "Alarm1.wma" and I get a much nicer beep in my ear when a text comes in during a call. |

Re: Haus Intrepid Tips and Tricks
Just added a new one, removing the battery charged sound ("FullCharging.wav") that you get when your battery is fully charged.
Re-worked the first post; post #2 now contains all sound-related tweaks. |
