With the Moto Droid coming out, hopefully Sprint has something up their sleeve.

so there is indefinite confirmation this thing is coming out??

i just called sprint today and i made them search for that phone in their system im also very interested in that phone especially with its snapdragon processor and 256 ram 512 rom and well they didn't have any reply for me....

From my experience, I would not believe what the phone customer service rep says. They lack the knowledge about phones and sometimes they say things that are outright untrue.

I emailed Dan at Sprint last week and they said they have no plans for the HTC HD2. But they have good news for me because Sprint is coming out with the HTC Diamond 2.

Here is an except from the email:

appreciate your feedback regarding phones and areas of opportunity to
improve Sprint. We at Sprint take competition in the market seriously
and we are working hard to develop and deliver new phones with quality
features. We do have several new phones that we are expected to receive
like the HTC Diamond 2, but I am unable to determine if we will be
receiving the HTC HD2. Please continue to provide any suggestions or
feedback you may have and I will certainly pass the information along to
our Marketing Team so that all involved can be aware of what our
customers seek.

A friend of a friend, huh? I am laughing my *** off. It reminds me about the GPS upgrade for the original Sprint Touch. A friend of a friend at Sprint said it was coming out next week. Then a friend at Sprint said it was coming out the following week. This went on for about 4 months.

Also, Sprint said it was going to release that update 1st quarter. It didn't actually come out until well into the 2nd quarter.

This is how it's going to span out because according to a friend of a friend of mine at Sprint who is a friend of a friend of mine at HTC, the news is quite reliable. It will come out on T-Mobile first. Then 6 months later, HTC will come out with something better than the HTC HD2 (maybe HD3?), then the HD2 will be released by Sprint.

Has anyone else gotten any confirmation of the Diamond 2? This is the first I've heard of anyone getting some kind of confirmation about it coming to sprint.

hmmm rep todl me they werent getting the diamond but the imagio and something else they werent sure about

Ugh, Imagio this late in the game. I may bite the bullet since it will probably be near a year by the time something like the HD2 comes out on sprint.

Well AT&T did just get their version of the Touch Diamond 2 so it won't be that late if sprints gets it now.

I still think the imagio or maybe even the HTC hd2 is coming soon why I dont tihnk the diamond 2 is simple "CDMA version of the imagio exists why not just use that" and on the htc hd2 well thats a high profile phone... and the diamond 1 sales sucked bad so maybe sprint decided to get something better for once
