Re: Jealous of iPhone games
can't you tether the itouch to the touch pro, and get internet on it? that could be kinda cool.

Re: Jealous of iPhone games
You can tether the iphone, only if you jailbreak. I've got my ipod touch jailbroken, and my friends got his iphone 3g jailbroken as well. Jailbreaking has opened a LOT of doors.

Re: Jealous of iPhone games
i dunno.. i use my touch pro as a wifi router, for my laptop.. ummm, i write excel documents for half the day on it instead of dragging my laptop with me wherever i go. i remote administer my work pc for a good part of the day.. i plot out my day through tomtom7 if i have a lot of places to be.. i copy and paste like a motherf*cker lol.. one of my jobs, i edit a car dealership's website twice a week when they get shipments. i take the pics on my dslr with a minisd card, pop it in my phone, upload them to their site and config the pages with the appropriate model info... can you do all of that on an iphone? any of it? just curious about how productive the godphone is. people treat the iphone like the media treats obama.

Re: Jealous of iPhone games
I see no reason why a phone meant for productivity can't also be used for entertainment (see: CorePlayer, the games that ARE out for Windows Mobile, and even the camera built into most PPC devices these days). I also don't see why a phone meant for entertainment can't also be used for productivity.
The iPhone and Windows Mobile devices are both the same basic thing: a pocket-sized computer with a phone built in. Their capabilities are currently different, but that doesn't mean that they won't, can't or shouldn't overlap. The iPhone should mature into a device with capabilities similar to PPC devices, and PPC devices/Windows Mobile should mature into something with capabilities similar to the iPhone. |

Re: Jealous of iPhone games
...i didn't say hipsters who want to be entertained, i said hipsters and people who want to be entertained.
it seems to me that if you plan on using the iphone for anything more than an ipod, or wap browser, you have to consider the severe limitations before purchase... whereas, a phone like the touch pro, you have to consider if you really need all of it. thats how i hear a lot of people explain them anyways. |

I don't disagree with you that it is better at entertainment... but it really does alot more productive stuff than you realize. Just like the Wimo phones have more entertainment than most realize... but I'm still waiting for those iphone game ports. ![]() |

Re: Jealous of iPhone games
i've dated numerous chicks who had iphones, so i was always playing around with theirs. i really found them rather boring though. there's like nothing to do on it without buying apps, otherwise you're just stuck flipping through the pretty screens. its not a bad phone, but i wouldn't exactly compare it to a ppc in terms of productivity. its not a very productive device at all. it plays videos fine, it plays music fine, and you can view pictures with ease... and thats what its made to do. i have nothing against the iphone really, except that i can definitely realize its limitations. every device has limitations though.. our phones need a ****load of tweaking before they work properly, but at the end of the day, my phone enables me to do things that actually make my job and my life easier, and those things couldn't be done on an iphone. that's why i own a ppc. if i wanted to play games, or watch movies, i'd probably get a psp. if i wanted a phone that was more fun than productive, i'd probably get an iphone. well, not really, because i can't justify spending the ridiculous amount of money that they cost (contract), but that's another argument.
