Jealous of iPhone games

The only app I've seen that I could say that I am jealous over is the guitar tuner app.....it looks sweet, and so far nothing I've seen for ppc comes close.

Personally, I think that comparing the 2 is a wash simply because each will say what the other is NOT capable of. Yet each post I read in response to the PPC posters has a NON-RESPONSE TO IT. I would like some of the more VERBOSE advocates of the iPhone say what it's NOT capable of. Because each time they tell us what the iPhone does better than games and video, a PERIOD seems to appear.
I see that all opinions are about games. SO WHAT? This is a mini-computer and ease of use is something that WM has ALWAYS HAD A PROBLEM WITH.
We all know it. So let the iPhone users have their fun ( and pay for all of it) while we use our PPC's for everything else.
I see each HATFIELD's and MCCOY'S. YYEEEEHHHHAAAAA!!!!!

We do it because we can. Our phone's are customizable like that.

As a matter of fact our phones are so versatile, that I can confidently say that there is almost nothing you can do on a pc/mac that you can't do with our Diamond/Pro.

Amen, I could have EASILY gone with an iPhone for what this device cost, but actually working with my phone was necessary, and many guys I work with don't really rave about there iPhone's like they did when they were new and shiny. I love my phone and have NO desire to own an iPhone.

Hardware wise you can go back and forth arguing over the benefits over each one.

But there is one thing that the iphone has that really does not have any close equivalent... the App store. It is so easy and convenient to use.... and not the mention most items are reasonably priced.

Again, I'm not saying the iphone is better (because personally I prefer the WM device) but we really don't have anything close to the App store. And I'm not ashamed to say that I really wish we had something like it.

Basically, if there's something you want to do on a regular computer, you can probably find something equivilant to do whatever you so desire on Windows Mobile. (streaming media, play games, run a web server, remote access via VNC, FTP transfer, file compression, network penetration testing, VoIP, etc). A Windows Mobile device isn't just a telephone, it is a ultra-portable computer that also has the feature of being able to make telephone calls. If you want to do something with your telephone, there almost certianly exists software, (and most of it for free), that can do exactly what you want.

I have over 300MB of installed software on my PocketPC, and I have only paid for 3 programs. (Pocket Tunes, Par 72 Golf II, MobiTV). For instance, even if you want to watch streaming live TV, you don't necessarily need to buy MobiTV. You can use TVU Player Portable. It's a little slow, and has severe lag, but it is free, (and has a couple hundred channels available for steaming). As I said, a Windows Mobile device is more of a computer then it is a telephone. Today's technology which fits in your pocket and will handle pretty much anything you throw at it, leaves the average 2001 desktop computer in the dust. (if you put in a 32GB microSD card)

im pissed that i cant find a good 3d first person shooter like the iphone gameloft ones ie Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance N.O.V.A Asphalt 5 3d tom clancys hawx not that other bull available to us wm users who like multiple file access options subtle shot to itunes
