Re: Jealous of iPhone games

Basically all the developers are putting out games and apps for the iphone because it is easier for them to make money... They don't have to develop their own website or distribution channel. It's already part of the iphone infrastruction...

Windows Mobile marketplace is a start but it's not close now...

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

if you want good games, look into the pre. it does 3d gaming just as the iphone, but it isnt an iphone. it has the slickest interface out right now in my opinion and much more stable than wm.

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

You're right, it isn't the iphone. Which has the best games and game devs. Like x10guy said, it's where the money is.

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

iphone games are overrated. On my diamond there were pretty much 7 games I played non-stop. On my iphone I have about 70 games or so, but play like 7 of them on a normal basis.

android marketplace is coming up and up with games just as good. don't get an iphone just for the "apps" because that will wear out pretty quickly and you will miss being able to customize your phone and some other things that WM offers over the iphone. Don't get me wrong I like some apps that I can't get on WM (chipotle ordering, controlling my att uverse, and some others) but it's not make/break, it is very overrated.

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

well, on the plus side, for those that are still jealous, the iphone's gaming superiority has numbered days:
engadget has confirmed full 3d gaming for Windows Phone 7 Series
http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/09/m...phone-full-3d/
and Google announced OpenGL for Android
http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/08/a...ccess-to-devs/
with both of these advances I think Google and Microsoft are both getting ready to settle the score

there isn't anything new they can do with the 4th generation iphone unless theyre going to drop tegra or tegra 2 in it (doubt it) and palm already has openGL and graphics that'll rival the iphone so they're sitting pretty as far as mobile gaming goes.
and i guess you're waiting for them to fail since you brought them up?

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

But Apple already has a considerable head start. The hardware won't be the difference maker. The fact is, as a dev, you're more likely to make the most $ on the dark side.

@orangekid, I agree somewhat. Some games just don't have a long replay value, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they can be a blast. SF4 for instance, very impressive control system, graphics, fluid gameplay but short replay value. What I do like is ease of multiplayer ability (wifi, bt, online). But what games are you talking about for your diamond? I'm interested because I never really played games for long on my diamond.
