It depends on your needs of course.

I was considering an Android phone until I realized most all of my favorite apps don't work in Android at this time(& by the time they do work, there will be phones with hardware KB's available & nobody will want stuff like the EVO/Incredible)

I use Sling Mobile, Sirius Radio & TV out hooked to a monitor in my truck everyday. I also have movies in multiple formats & I'm not willing to give up all that stuff + the awesome keyboard just to gain a little speed........

Re: Anyone somewhat regretting the TP2 after seeing the HTC Evo 4G?

There will always be problems with operating systems. No one has it perfect and no one ever will....however, there are very VERY stupid problems with WinMo+Sense.
Maybe ill take a video of my TP2 freezing and glitching on command.

At least android has only 1 sms system and it works.

Operator error.

I can post a video of my TP2 running perfectly, I don't think mine has EVER frozen up if I didn't do something stupid.......

+1

Stability has never been a problem on this phone save dumb moves or bad cabs.

I agree everyone's needs are different. The Evo2 or Incredible aren't for me.... yet. As time moves forward, that platform will fill all of my needs. Unless WinMo keeps up or exceeds it, I can see myself trying it out.

Until then, I'm loving the Pro2 and haven't lost any customers or income *because of it*.

I'm with you on the KB - it was the main reason I went with it months ago. The Pro2 has awesome hardware that simply needs memory upgrade, faster processor, and working FM. It's got superb battery life for its feature set (:cough:mightyrom:cough and the apps are there, you just have to hunt for them.

However, none of those things pay the bills, and the flakiness with my credit card authorizaton software in WinMo6.1/6.5 will either force me to change merchant service providers or change to their supported platform so I don't have to buy new bluetooth card swipes, software, etc. In the meantime, they're working to resolve their issues with it - it's not technically the phone's fault.

The Touch Pro 2 is able to work all day, party all night, and back to work the next day - something the Evo or Incredible isn't able to do without a recharge... yet.

Re: Anyone somewhat regretting the TP2 after seeing the HTC Evo 4G?

I don't get the whole "regret" thing, its a phone. If you are the kind of person that has to have the latest and greatest then you need to jump in the game earlier. A year is a long time in phone world. Next time (and there is always a "next" phone) buy something that has just come out.

For now just enjoy your TP2, it is a great phone. Disregard any threads on any site that include lines like "this phone is the $$^*%". The Evo will have its issues just like any other phone or OS. Have you read some of the threads in the Evo forum? Those guys concerned about commercials and thing like that. Its a telephone!!! Nobody cares.

The longer you use your TP2 the better you will be positioned for whatever is next.

just my 2 cents

Re: Anyone somewhat regretting the TP2 after seeing the HTC Evo 4G?

I dont regret it at all...if i want android i can simply install it...if i want an iphone-like interface i can install it...if another awsome OS comes out...i can probably install that as well...then show it off to those w/ the cool phone and say "ha yea me too" plus more!

keyboard doesnt hurt either

Re: Anyone somewhat regretting the TP2 after seeing the HTC Evo 4G?

as per the original question... NO no regrets, EVO has 10.00/mo tax to it and no SERO, it will be a 49.00 phone in 8-10 months. I dont even know if it is worth loosing the plan over or the slide out KB. ...pay more for faster mobile internet and a plan at twice the price with a 10.00/fine for owning it? Whatever. major fail. I would have paid 399.00 up front for it on SERO on principle alone. Pass...

Re: Anyone somewhat regretting the TP2 after seeing the HTC Evo 4G?

lets change it up a little.

"If" you had opportunity for a free say....Evo or Incredible would you retire you TP2... In my case the incredible would you jump ship to go keyboardless.

My answer: maybe not if i got sound, bt in android, 3d acceleration and it would be the incredible.
