I'm having the same issue with my Verizon 700WX. My error code is like 702 though, but the error message is identical. I followed all the steps carefully and my PC does see the Treo as a modem, but it hangs on "Verifying Username and Password" before giving the error after 90 seconds or so.

Guys, I can't seem to get the computer to see my Treo as a modem. Active Sync see's it and talks but I have no new modems added. Any ideas here? 700wx sprint model.

Also when I was messing with it , the device.exe blew up, I rebooted and its fine again.

Got it working. I am only on the Vision $10 plan too. I only tested it for a second to see if I can get it to work.

Bump

Has anyone figured out the solution yet? As I said, I can see the treo and it dials the modem and says it is checking username and password. After a while it times out and says "remote computer will not respond".

I get the same error. i tried using the drivers from the vzw site, the old wModem drivers, usbmodem and pdanet with the built in modem link... no go... usbmodem worked but dropped to 1x... PDAnet worked fine and used ev... but i don't wanna have to load pdanet on every pc i wanna teather on... If we could figure this out that would be great... maybe i'm just missing something. I also tried using the wModem program from the 6700 and the usb modem from the 6600. the programs opened but would not allow me to select the start button...

Can anyone confirm that this works with verizon When I wrote this Sprint was the only company with the 700wx so now that there is a 700wx from Verizon I may need to change the title to Sprint only. This should work there is no reason why it shouldn't unless Verizon changed something in the drivers. Has anyone from verizon tried to use the Sprint drivers Thanks for the help and sorry for any confusion

Verizon Connection Manger

Does anybody have info on verizon connection manger? I was told by Verizon that if I wanted to tether my 700wx as a modem for my laptop it would cost me $15.00 a month extra. BULL S%#*

Thanks

I just wanted to say thanks so much, I followed the steps, and it worked. I am so excited, I am a previous Blackberry user, and was thinking of switching back, but now that I have found this site, I just may come to love my Treo 700wx, just as mcuh as I did with my BB.
