Great write up and it works for me ( sprint ). It did take some trail and error to get the screen to come up on the setup wizard to select the modem.

I have done some searching and have not found any resource that mentions how to do this under OS X. Ideally I'd like to have it do bluetooth but would settle for USB currently.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

It doesn't matter where you save it as long as you install it correctly. We don't know what you did wrong either since you are not providing any details.

Dialup via Bluetooth

Hi folks,

I successfully connected my Sprint Treo 700wx to my laptop and desktop via the sync cable with no problems what-so-ever.

However, this weekend I setup my laptop to dial via Bluetooth since I left my sync cable at home. Everything was working peachy until about 15-20 min into surfing when the internet stopped responding. I looked at my phone and it froze (pressing buttons didn't do anything, couldn't turn it off, etc). I had to soft-reset to get it back online.

I thought it was a fluke, but it happened every time I tried it, all weekend long.

Anyone else experience this?

I am a soon-to-be 700wx owner. I have been using PPC6700 since Nov 2006.

Is there any difference btwn the PPC and 700wx in terms of PAM'ing (Phone As Modem) ? I mean, it have not had much issues with using the PPC in PAM mode. I have the occasional disconnect (due to incoming sms or phone call) ... if I disconnect (clicking on the Windows XP network connection icon in the system tray, selecting 'disconnect') I can easily connect by bringing up the PPC CDMA Dialer - even if I did not touch the PPC.

I am confused by this thread of having to power down the 700's radio then turning it back on to reconnect in PAM mode.

this doesn't seem to work on Vista. i installed it and after many many tries, it attempted to recognize the treo as a modem, but the driver install failed. any ideas?
