The smaller screen thing is stupid. We've already seen Verizon branded pics of the TP2, and it looks identical to everything else TP2 related that we've seen.

I could care less what version of WM the phone comes with or anything of that nature, as I'll end up flashing something else anyways. As long as the phone has identical or equivalent hardware to the other versions with no major functional gimping I'll be fine with it. All I need is news on how much RAM, the processor, etc. and I'll be sold. Otherwise I'm off to Sprint or AT&T, which I really don't want to do as I do like the VZW network but will NOT deal with a crippled phone.

Sprint/Verizon Touch Pro 2 ROMs finalized; get closer to launch

We're getting word that both Verizon and Sprint's upcoming Touch Pro 2 — aka "Rhodium" — are getting closer to launch.
How do we know? Evidently the ROM has been finalized and is ready to ship:

With the ROMs locked down, it seems more about dotting their i's and crossing their t's now, specifically time-to-market, FCC, packaging, production, etc. One thing looks certain: Verizon and Sprint are both racing to get this out at the same time.
We can also confirm the radio frequencies available for this CDMA/GSM world phone on both carriers:

5MP with Auto Focus and Anti-Shaking on the Verizon D2, and I would expect the soones for Verizon to get that to be September of 2009, but release will be October I am guess.

as far as your guesses con I would agree a bit...especially if we see a shipped rom from vzw it doesn't make sense for a shipped rom on vzw to be prolonged for another 5 months...
recall when the shipped rom was leaked it was maybe a few weeks after sprint was on the heels of releasing their touch pro so I am very sure if we are seeing a shipped rom there shouldn't be much longer...great addition to the discussion con as per usual
