Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

You can. I couldn't figure out the other instructions so I just ran the exe and it did everything for me. Main benefit fro me is that I can now hang up the phone through the steering wheel button in my car. I think they improved the BT radio

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

So far everything has been fine for me with this ROM, however, text messaging always shows 1 unread message even though I've read them all. Anyone know how to mark all text messages as read?

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

Yeah that's an issue a lot of us had, but there's an executable file that fixes it and makes it go away. Here's the thread where I found the solution:

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

Do a google search for a program called fixunreadcount. Shouldn't be too hard to find. Copy it onto your SD card, run the exe then do a soft reset. That should fix your problem. I had to run the program twice and do the soft reset twice also before it worked for me. Hopefully it will work out for you.

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

I've noticed better call quality and connection times, better battery life, faster TF3D, much better memory management with no tweaks, and generally better functioning. I've also learned I need to maintain a personal library of "sashimi style" cabs and tweaks. I'd done several dozen and after flashing to this new ROM I have no idea which ones I want, which are registry tweaks and not cabs, and how many were overwritten by follow up cabs. Lesson learned.

Thanks again for the ROM Conflippa!

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

Hands down a worth while flash. A lot of little things seem to be fixed/tweaked. One thing I'm noticing is really poor battery life. Really poor. It reminds me of my imagio right out of the box - first week or so the battery drained like a sink and then settled out.

I'm hoping it's due to a bunch of initial backgroud tasks being run after the flash - I'm thinking of things like music/photo searches, etc. I did notice that just about every time I open Comm manager my data connection is on. I guess that could be doing it as well. Anyone else seeing that?

Remember to switch your phone mode from Global to CDMA Only (I had to after a hard reset - don't recall the setting after the flash).

Make sure all radios are off unless needed (BT, WiFi, Infrared) and also if you use Exchange email go to a 10-15 minute interval on checking rather than DirectPush and that will save you considerable battery as well. Most people don't need to see an email seconds after delivery, so if you don't either I'd recommend that.
