Mines working right now I don't wanna try it.

One simple way to see the IP of a web address is to open a cmd prompt and "ping www.agps.com" (insert web address).

I don't think it matters weither it's input as ip or web address. I use net tools to see the info. I have input the information as a web address and it still works fine. I guess the ppc registery can translate it over without issues.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

Hmmmm... this post at XDA would indicate that QPST settings override any registry settings. I will be testing this with the Telus setttings later.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

well the verizon ip

Verizon:
PDE IP Address: 66.174.95.132
PDE Port number: 8888
PDE Transport: IP
Position Calculation: Mobile

seemed to work for about 6-8 hours then mine went blank.

RD

Edit

I followed Humpas Valhalla edit and used another server that I know is dedicated to agps (sshhh) and its back up right after the soft boot.
Now other than doing a packet capture and figuring out what the packets are do we have a way to "verify" AGPS is enabled properly on the device?

I would hate to be out in the boon docks and call 911 only to tell them I'm off somewhere next to a cliff with 1 hump...

Although I have garmin that prolly won't be a problem, but you see the point.

Excellent thread people..!

VisualGPS has a very detailed log but I can't make heads or tails of it. Maybe someone else can?

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

I'm using one of NFSFAN's ROMs on my XV6900 and I also have had issues with GPS not working for a week. Decided to come here and check it out, much to my surprise it does appear that Verizon is locking us out somehow.

However, I loaded up QPST and changed my aGPS info to match the Telus server info previously posted. Worked like a charm for me and now aGPS is working perfectly again. I'm getting 3-5 second locks again with 8-11 sats. That's what I like to see. Thanks all.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

FYI I took this info.

Verizon:
PDE IP Address: 66.174.95.132
PDE Port number: 8888
PDE Transport: IP
Position Calculation: Mobile

Converted IP to decimal with this site
http://www.kloth.net/services/iplocate.php

GPS just locked 10 sec 8 sats
