Re: Start Screen Splash
The animation I have is the default verizon animation and it is the size required.....also there is nothing in my advance config that is labeled startup animation....

Re: Start Screen Splash
The challenge here is that the replies you are posting aren't particularly informative, so it is difficult to help. I'm not saying that this is your fault. For example: When you state that you don't have the following key "HKML\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation" that seems strange. It is doubtful that there could have been a working startup animation, without this key and the associated values (name/data).
There are three ways to get around this:

I can see where having a borked phone would cause some level of irritation. If the phone is STILL Freezing, as you appeared to state earlier in the thread, then hard-reset to get back to ground zero. Or, you might try to completely and thoroughly describe the situation as it presently stands and we can have a fresh start at trying to resolve the issue. Best regards, -boggsie |

When you first startup the phone, there is a potential for two boot images, followed by a startup animation, followed by an OS Splash screen. Did the original rom have a startup image that was not still photo or image, but a short movie? (animated gif) Where in the registry (the key, value and data) did you change welcomehead.96? What were the (key, value and data) before (originally) and what are they now that you have changed it? The archive that I attached included an animated gif file "VZW_Startup.gif". Where on your phone did you copy this file? If you renamed the file, what name did you give it? Best regards, -boggsie |

We're probably looking for something with a file name that includes startup or animation or ani ... but a list of all *.gif files in the \windows\ folder is where we will start. Once you have that list of files, copy them to your PC and open each of them up in Internet Explorer. The GIF file animation will run in Internet Explorer. When you find that file, rename the verizon file I attached to the exact same file name of the GIF that animates in Internet Explorer. Then copy this renamed file to your PPC "\windows" directory.
