oK SO I used your attached and tried to put it in the registry to replace welcomehead.96 and it starts to try to do the animation but then it freezes at the begining and then goes on to tflo2d without finishing it. I was hoping the someone would know how to fix it.

Re: Start Screen Splash

Well, the safer bet would have been to copy the existing file name for the startup animation. Then, rename the replacement file (attachement from above) and drop it into your windows folder, overwriting the existing file.

This would have kept you out of the registry.

welcomehead is different than the startup animation

The welcomehead (either - *.png or *.jpg) is what displays immediately following the startup animation.

Here is where the startup animation registry settings are located. What keys and values do you have here?

HKML\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation

There won't be a registry item called StartupAnimation. Think of this as a folder location:

HKML\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation

What are all of the file names (items) and sizes (values) listed in the above registry "folder"?

there is no folder in the HTC folder that is labeled startupanimation.
There are two folders called startupbiotouch and those are the only ones with startup anything in there title.

Well then, I am out of thoughts ... other than to hard-reset (which deletes all of your local data). If this doesn't cause you heartache, it is the quickest way back to the ROM as it was created.

It is possible that VZW has this key and the associated program nested elsewhere in the registry. What program are you using to view registry entries?

I am using the phm registry editor.....I think that perhaps the one that can help me is WDM as he is the one that cooked the rom that I am currently using.
