Re: My office doenst support push email - only BBs and iphones
Tell your IT guys to stop being lame and activate Activesync. I think it's ridiculous to not configure a tool that they have already purchased, while actually paying MORE for a BB server. Sorry IT guy rant.

So they support the iPhone? What is the connection method? You should be able to set up your Touch to access the email using whatever they are doing with the iPhone. Your device is way more flexible than an iPhone.

iPhone uses ActiveSync. They are using what you need.
I would try to call the server exchange.yourcompany.com and see if ActiveSync asks for your username/password You can borrow sombody's iPhone and get the name of the server. Be nice to an IT person and ask what the external name or IP address of the exchange server is. You might also find it by this. From dos prompt nslookup >set type=mx >mycompany.com that will return the email servers, and most likely the first one is the exchange server. then type >exit c:\ Or, just let the IT person play with your phone. Most will like it, although it is not as cool as iPhone or as business oriented as BB ![]()

Re: My office doenst support push email - only BBs and iphones
I had to discover my settings where I work... do you have access to a web version of your outlook email?
ours is mail.companyname.edu (it's a university affiliated medical center, yours would be .com most likely) I put that in as the server, and I already knew the domain info from how it populates it into various login screens for other company websites, if you enter your password wrong... So needless to say I was pleasantly surprised that it works. Been here two years, and I'm still not sure if they even want people who haven't been explicitly granted mobile email access to have this ability...ha

Re: My office doenst support push email - only BBs and iphones
Go to Emoze.com and they have a handy piece of software you run on your desktop that pushes your mail to a secure server then to your phone. Then you you point your phone there and download an app to the phone and they sync, this is how I get around my corporate IT settings, and I am the IT Manager at my division and am not allowed to setup activesync for anyone, including myself, the Corporate IT Gods want us to use GoodLink, which is junk as far as I can see. I have had no problems with EMOZE, and it is free.
