ALLTEL WM 6.1 finally HERE!! {Merged} - Page 14

<p>i have an htc 6900 and i recently tried to update it with the alltel 6.1 rom update. i have very little knowledge of the programs on the device but i do know how to use it. i guess the option for the screen to go blank after a set amount of mins was activated and when the update had begun the screen went blank. after that the program tried to restart the update a couple of times. now it says the device will not accept the update and the program automatically ends. now my phone is stuck with the multicolored screen that showed up when trying to update the first time. there are several different numbers and letters on the screen. i tried resetting the phone (hard and soft reset) but it would still end up at the same multicolored screen. what did i do, and how can i fix it without sending it in?</p>

Ok did the Shadow Tech and it works like a champ. Went to cancel Telnav and it gives you an 800# that can't disconnect it. I am going to go by an Alltel store in the A.M. to cancel it as I no longer need it.

plug ur phone in to the usb port on your computer. wait like 20 seconds. run this program. it should work.

also,this is a 6800 ROM. this will not work on the 6900 (touch). you need the 6900 ROM.

MODS, i think there is some confusion here. this thread is in the titan/mogul/6800 and vogue sections. lots a folks are trying to flash this titan rom to their touch/vogue/6900. it needs to be moved to the titan section only.

This thread is also about the new 6.1 for the 6900. Both releases were announced here. Titan on the first post, Vogue on #11 or some such. I agree though; they should be separate.

i downloaded the program, ran it, and i kept getting a message telling me to disable the usb connection in active sync ( which i tried and then i just ended the partnership) and then it says to make sure its connected properly(which it is). what now?

open activesync. goto connection settings. remove the check mark next to 'allow usb connection'. turn on phone. plug phone in to usb. run the program.

if that doesnt work just reflash the official rom and shpuld work for ya.

if u have the touch, it is the right rom.

it still didnt work. what is the "official" rom. how can i restore my phone because right now i cant use it at all and my wife needs to be able to contact me at all times right now because shes 8m 20d pregnant. somebody please help me. (i didnt know what i was gettin into and shouldnt have done it in the first place)

Couple of questions:

Is the included Opera a 30-day trial or a registered version?

If I have a custom (dcd) ROM, do I need to relock to do the update?

The HTC update page shows the rom having radio 3.42.50. Is that the right version or is it really .30?

Have you tried a hard reset on the phone?
