It is a shame that Verizon doesn't offer the Sprint style rubberized casing that is studier and also gives you a superior grip on the phone. |

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing
taking a closer look. the crack on the right is near the memory slot and the crack on the left is near the volume. Bad placement? I actually had two cracks on the right side and i knew it would be a missing chunk soon lol

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing
By the way, some people are putting the black rubberized Sprint back on the XV6900's face. I wonder it that helps prevent cracking? You don't have to squeeze the phone so hard to get a good grip.

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing
I had mine for two weeks and it cracked near the volume slider. Verizon replaced it immediately and apologized. However, the service person said if it happens again, I'd have to replace it by filing a claim with my extended warranty policy. Yeah, right...

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing
For what it's worth, with an issue like this we have to wait for the manufacturer to acknowledge the defect as warrantable before we replace the phone. If the phone is warranted without manufacturer's acknowledgment of a known defect then Verizon eats the cost of each replacement.
I have sold literally hundreds of these units and not a single one has come back with the crack, so it is most likely a bad batch. That can take time to filter down to us. When we start seeing repeated issues like this in the store we have to file a tech bulletin report, which goes up the chain. |
