Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)

Something else just crossed my mind... ALL of my Sprint Touch's that had bad screens came with the folding wall charger. My good one came with a bulky non-folder.

Perhaps this may be useful for someone to know...

Doubtful, I have the bad screen and mine came with the "bulky non-folding" one. Sorry, I wish we could pin point which ones would be good and which would be bad easily, unfortunately not.....

Guess we'll just have to wait for the Touch Pro!

/me hates that companies can get away with this...

Pick your poison

Had a 'good' screen, then a 'bad' one after warranty replacement. I was ticked until a buddy came over for a bbq and I could compare them both side by side. The bad one actually has much deeper contrast, but more imporantly it's MUCH easier to view in sunlight. That hyper-reflective backplane and polarizing filter actually do wonders outside compared to the good screen. So I decided to stick with it...I guess life has compromises.

Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)

The first one I had was really good. RMA'd it cause I thought something was wrong with it (now I think there was nothing wrong with it--it was in my head). The second one I got screwed up when you tilted it up past like 40 degrees (not bad) but it had the waves (really bad) so I RMA's it. This last one screws up (inverts the colors) when you tilt it up like 10 degrees so that sucks. You need to look straight at it or look UP at it. It also has a dot in the middle of the screen. Thought it was a dead pixel then looked at it under our labs disecting scope and it's like some kind of white smudge. Not a dead pixel. Its like DEAD center on the screen. tiny but annoying. Maybe I'll RMA this one too at some point.

Well when they start changing out bad ones for good ones no one will notify you. Sound fair?

Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)

I Just changed out a BAD sprint touch screen for a good Alltel screen. I have used this site a lot and have never posted before. This is what i found.

MAJOR difference, i would never ever go back to the old screen. The image is brighter, picture is sharper and off axis is not a problem. This mod is the best I've done yet.

These are the numbers off the Good Screen:

TX02720aaa01 004s7arb453
s/n: 902a17at502105
P/N: 60h00101-00m

Only the P/N: pulls any thing up. http://www.b2btrade.biz/leads_102683/ and http://www.mobile-phone-accessories.com/

Bad screen on the left, good on the right:

Re: Good vs Bad screens (pictures + videos of both)

I opened up my phone a couple of days ago and remember noticing that rectangular hole in the bottom frame of the screen. I have a bad screen too. I guess that's one of the hallmarks.
