Problems with Susan TTS voice

After upgrading to the new Sprint ROM, I have been having problems with iGo8. I have managed to get it working again, with the exception of the Susan TTS voice. Has anyone figured out the steps to make it work with the new ROM and with iGo 41506?

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

All I did is copy and replace with the new version and new maps. (also running the new sprint rom). I did not replace the TTS_q log files though. left those intact.

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

Thanks - I found a different version of Susan ("high quality") and that solved it. However, it turns out that the June release (v41506) of iGo8 can't use the old POI files. So I'm back to the March release.

If anyone can modify the file and make it better be my guess just reupload so the can enjoy. I will be testing TTS to see if I have installed it correctly as well.

Update:

TTS works great

Features:

Poi dial enabled
Time zone patch
Trips increased to 4
3d building enabled
3d landmarks enabled
3d, 2d terrain enabled
auto time mode enabled
Inertia on map enabled ;able to move app around like Opera 9 beta web pages
gps set to com4, 4800 baud

add option to enable max memory, and reserve memory. Need to uncomment fields and set preferred value.
Cache set to 2048
Removed annoying audio message if gps lost
Removed annoying drive safe announcement
Added estimate calculation when gps signal temporarily lost (tunnels etc)
Option to enable Turns on Smart 2D enabled by default
Ability to change compass type currently set to 3
and more fetures as well to many to explain
What version of igo8 do I need to have? I have the March version, and I don't see any notable changes, nor is 'call' enabled...would love to have dialing directly from poi screen...

To enable dialing from within IGO, you need to have these lines in your sys.txt:
[phone]
driver="TAPI"
exe_path="\Windows\cprog.exe"
win_name="Phone"

I found that there are two locations that the sys.txt can exist. One in the /storage card/IGO8 and the other in the /Program Files/IGO8. IGO8 uses the one in the Program Files. So make sure you change the one in the program files.

Hope this helps.

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

alright.

i was able to get astrolauncher properly shortcutted with igo8. and its FLAWLESS.
my question is.. when i exit out of igo8 is gps still running, depleting my battery?

or do i need to rerun astrolauncher to disable gps?
or when i get done using igo should i goto settings to disable gps??

this really is awesome because.. astro is launched first, and while igo8 is loading up, astro is priming the gps.. so when im right into igo8's map, gps is already locked on full with high accuracy.
amazing.

As far as I am aware, once you exit iGO8, that is all you need to do. The Vogue's battery will not be drained because of continued use by the gps receiver. You do not need to run Astrolauncher again or go into settings to disable gps.
