The address book contacts are automatically imported, and are found in your POI under contacts.

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

When I first started the program up, it tried to import contacts but I got this error message:

"Geocoding finished with errors. 0 of 36 addresses found, 36 failed. Do you want to see the details?"

Clicking yes all the addresses it tried to import have 1 of 2 messages:

1) Address not found
2) The city and/or the postal code specidifed in the address cannot be found

The proper map files are in the map folder so I don't understand why I'm getting this error message. Anybody run into the same problem?

anyone else have a problem with POI's? Im in michigan and when i POI search, say for something common like any gas station, the closes shows like 80 miles away. Maybe its just my poi file is messed up because the map and building and .dem are all jsut fine

I had the same problem at first, it is the way you have entered your contacts addresses. My problem was I had the street types incorrectly I had main ave entered, instead it should of been main st. Another mistake I had was incorrect abbreviations for example I had court as crt, instead of ct.

You might have the POI's sorted by name not by distance.

For example, I came across a POI with a cross in it. I figured it was some kind of medical thing which I didn't know existed there. I wanted to find out if it was a hospital, dental or whatever, but I couldn't find a quick way of bringing that information up.

Thanks.
Tap on it, u get the red cursor. Then tap cursor button on the right side, then tap info. And u get info about all POIs nearby that point. I know that sucks but that is the only way I found to get info about the POI.

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

Mardukeme, thx for the lead. I investigated further and found IGO didn't like the abbreviations I used. It's very picky about syntax. I had used "St." whereas IGO wants just "St" so it croaked because of the period. Also, if you have suite numbers or apartment numbers it won't import correctly either. Talk about a dumb program.

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

What's the best way to get it to re-import contacts? Currently, my contact POI is empty but I do remember getting a bunch of errors the first time I started iGo. I'd like to try and import again to see if I can fix them (and I do add contacts from time to time.)

I got the same problem. It seems that the POI file of Michigan does not contain any in the the southern part (120mile from Ohio).

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

Hello,

I'm having problems on running iGo8 on a windows ce 4.2 device. I have read that the following parameter should work:

[rawdisplay]
driver=gdi

I see the sys.txt file just posted, and the parameter is different:

[rawdisplay]
highres=0

¿What are the differences, if any, between these two configurations?

Thanks in advance,
corp
