Hey, thanks for the reply. I went ahead and hung up the call. Voice and SMS still do not work. I can't back to the #832 line either ("Cannot authenticate..."). I called tech support but they weren't able to help me, the tech asked me to reprogram using *228 with both options (1 first, 2 second). That didn't work, the tech asked me to do a hard reset through Windows Mobile and then reprogramming with option 1. That didn't work and the tech gave up. Any ideas? Thanks.

Currently doing the #2539 thing. The line's automation message tells me promotions, then lets me know a technician is currently working on re-authenticating my phone and to keep my phone on the line, then continues promotions. I never get to talk to a real person using #2539. Should I be? Should I just hang up after a certain amount of time after the tech notification?

Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM

Anyone figure out how to edit the xml file so your city shows up in the Weather list?
I edited the xml file to no avail. click on the orig city Calgary, it tried to switch to the city picker and closes that screen first time go there. go back and its empty list. Im thinking

GPS is kinda spotty. GPSViewer got a quick lock the first time i used it at my house, and google maps then locked onto me quick. Went downtown last night and i assumed it would be quick after locking that first time but waiting 20m and was still 'No Fix' so i kinda gave up and went to restaurant for my mom . Now when back at home, when running GPSViewer, i get 'No Fix, Aquiring'. Thought mabye since it locked originally at my house, maybe it would be easily for it to lock near your orig signal.
Then i get 'Aquiring 3D' after a while (20m). Radio version in Device Info is 3.37.10 btw. Sometimes when i run it again, it doesnt lock on my location at home quickly, as i thought it should after it has already found me. I ran it again actually and now it after regetting my fix. so i dunno. ill keep updated.

Some things i would like to see here:
Be nice to have 'vibratouch'(or i think HTC calls it biotouch/feedback?) when pressing phone buttons like verizon Voyager,
Alarm Clock doesnt allow custom mp3's?, the default ringtones are soo quiet to me. didnt get me up a few days in a row hehe.

the weather thing is a quick fix for me just to reload the original xml cities file that came with it.. i donno if ur city is listed there, but at least its not canada..

my gps is kinda sketchy too.. havent quite got it down.. i made my own rom and there is an option in the kitchen to make it vibrate with each keypad press. and for custom alarm sounds i heard if u convert it to .wav files then put it somewhere in your windows folder that you can use it.. ive been wanting to make the circle of life from the lion king my alarm.. haha thought it would be funny..

sorry these are all pretty much half answers i will get you links and files later.. im at my parents house still

Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM

Does anyone know what causes the problem w/ authentication on the XV6900?
I'm on Sprint, and I flash new roms everytime something new comes out.
This problem doesn't exist on the Sprint Touch.
I'm trying to get my friend into making custom roms, but if he has to talk to tech support after every new rom, I think it will get old, quick.

I had the authentication problem once, when I flashed one of the first custom roms before the Vogue kitchen. Since then I've flashed at least three custom roms from others, and many that I've built with the kitchen, without authentication problems.

I think I may know why. The only time you need to re-authenticate the phone is when you mess with the radio. If you have the stock Verizon rom and hard reset, and letting customization run, a file call radio-refurb.cab will run and this will actually erase the AKey on the phone, this is one reason you have to re-authenticate after a hard reset.

Reason #2 is when you flash the Alltel rom, or the Sprint leak rom to update the radio to rev.A and gps. This will also erase the Akey and the phone will require to re-authenticate.

Simply flashing a different rom, or using the kitchen WILL NOT erase the Akey, as these do not touch the radio portion. So once you get the radio updated to a 3.xx version, you can flash whatever rom you like without re-authenticate again.

Makes sense, but I flashed to new radios twice (to the alltel 3.37.10, and then to sprint 3.37.15), but only had to get re-authenticated after the first flash. Just an observation.
