Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update
Ok folks I now need some help from the collective...
I originally let customizations run on my 6900 and now it seems the GPS hw has changed COM ports, which is now COM5. No matter what I do I cannot get GPS to operate at all. I have followed Jackie's instruction set on getting back to square 1, and I have the 1.37 PRI running but still QPST is telling me that the GPS is on COM5. What do I have to do to configure my device to work with iGo8, or any other COM based application? I know I must be missing something. Steve |

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update
Steve and others-
I am a bit pressed for time today but do intend to do the step by step (without customization) tonight, likely between 9-10pm EST then will post results. By the way Steve, when does the option unfold to cancel cusomization? Also I understand at that point I do a soft reset. correct? thanks again. leslie |

Here is my story. Stock Vouge on Friday, Saturday upgraded to Bell ROM with radio .50. Watched my battery drop like a ROCK! The 3.3.x radios seem to be alot less power intensive to me. Alteast on my Titan. So I flashed VZW Update on Sunday to get the Boot Screens and Radio I wanted. Did not let customizations RUN. ROM runs incredible but no GPS. Looked at service programming and GPS was still turned on and all options were the same in QPST. Thats a first. Never seen that before. Eitherway, I still have no GPS. Checked Location Settings and they were fine. Checked external GPS and it seemed to be configured properly. Any thoughts? Apps Used was Live Search which previously never had an issue. I did not let Customizations run. I feel like a newb. Shoulda just left it alone ;c( Last edited by scrosler; 11-23-2008 at 08:50 PM. |

To be honest with you I think the aGPS server was down? It happens every Saturday night I can tell you that for a fact... But anyways. I accomplished what I needed to. I have 3.37.77 Radio and GPS going. Thats all I wanted. The Bell Radio is a freaking power drain like I have never seen!!! Same thing on my Titan. I am sticking with the official 3.37.xx Radios for now. Just less power hungry. Thanks for the help Steve. I hate being a noob again!!! Arghhhh..... Hahahah. |

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update
I see you guys are into serious help sessions...... I am just interfering momentarily to let you know I am about to flash the 6.1 rom on my stock 6.0 I will be a few minutes backing up etc. Then will check this site one more time before actually starting. thanks again for help. leslie
ONE MORE THING BEFORE I START... GULP!! When I get the option to soft reset is it on the screen or do the usual soft reset with stylus?? Hopefully w/ 3 sec pressure syndrome I wont have to fumble w/stylus and drop it on the floor while the rom customizes!~!! (worst case scenario) Last edited by leslie50; 11-23-2008 at 10:28 PM. Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update
Oh Noooooo! Thre rom loaded but I didn't see an option to stop customization??? what went wrong??? or did I just not recognize when to do it? any way I will see how it works and hold off reactivating until I hear something...
Can I just redo the update? I did another flash and realized when the thing was customizing..duh uh...It was loading HTC something then I soft reset her. I haven't gotten any further since I cant reactivate the phone, they wanted a password to confirm- but I dont have it. Will have to do it tomorrow. It seems to work fine otherwise ![]() Last edited by leslie50; 11-24-2008 at 12:04 AM. |

Won't flashing the phone back to a non-GPS radio cause issues? This post specifically says not to do it http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26082 . Is there a safer way to unlock COM port GPS after the customizations have locked it? How are the customizations able to mess with the radio to the point that a reflash does not reset it? Why can't I just flash to a custom rom and do the QPST GPS fix? Has anyone tried reflashing with a GPS radio instead of a non-GPS radio as suggested above?
