I had this issue. Had to disable "advanced network functionality" on the PPC under USB connections.

Yeah, I disabled, updated the motherboard chipset drivers, updated to XP SP3, jumped down, turned around and picked a bale of cotton and the damn thing still wouldn't connect. The PC saw it. Hardware manager recognized the Touch as a WM device but I kept receiving a network connection error on the phone itself and so...couldn't connect.

*sigh*

Good ROM too. Oh well.

Now I have my sweet Bell update.

Yes. I am happy.

Exclamation Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Well after originally doing this update, i was rather impressed, i now have consistant gps locks within seconds all the time, but one problem i encountered, im stuck in 1x mode, my phone will not authenticate evdo, in field trial its just says 0 - inactive.....0- not authenticated

ive tried everything i could possibly do, flashed back to the sprint rom, reset the epst for the prl, back to 1.33.07....changed my # in the msid etc, and no matter what now i have lost my evdo connection, checking everything as im going and nothing is different...anyone have any suggestions? as now i have no idea what im going to do...other than call bell and ask them with my evdo wont come on....???

i can still get on the data connection, but only in 1x mode....it still works but really really slow

any fast help would be much appreciated....i would hate to give up downloading speeds and tethering to have a consistant gps..

Thumbs up Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Just to chime in a bit...this is one of the fastest ROMs I have ever used and I am basically a ROM junkie. Everything installs faster and even File Explorer navigates extra quick.

I have never before gotten GPS locks from within my basement (let alone upstairs) until now! Even my Garmin XT doesn't need to be primed anymore! I always had to prime it with something (usually GPS Today) or I would get the "6pm time change" issue if I exited without a lock. Now it locks in under 20 seconds ervery time.

For the first time in months, I think I am sticking with an OEM ROM. I am truly amazed and it was worth the wait for Bell o do it right. I;m very impressed.

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Add me to the list of people in shock! I'm getting a 7 sat lock within 15 seconds from my basement AFTER A SUSPEND OF 2 HOURS!! This is incredible, I've never locked on more than 3 sats from here before..

I flashed back to NFSFAN's ROM because I like all of his customizations, and it the GPS still works awesome! NFS even ripped the tv & music, and the GPSnav apps out of the bell OEM ROM for us...

is this IP and port a crucial information
that has been missing in all Bell-related ROMs before?

and the one that makes GPS fast now?

it is stored directly on GPSone chip, and
used for position calculation (via assisted GPS?), right?

why, then,
does one need another IP address under that SUPL AGPS branch?

P.S. Strange thing , according to my observations there
is NO change in data connection state when GPS gets a lock..
does it mean, that connection to that PDE IP goes some other way?

one thing I noticed is that now it locks on satellites with SNR BELOW 30
(like 25 even 20)...
so this is a result of AGPS properly working via that PDE IP?

and overall, YES GPS is faster now, and
NO STANDBY ISSUE!

HURRAY!

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Another GPS update... This morning, when going to work, I launched TT7 (without priming) and BANG!! got a lock in about 15 secs... Phone had been standby for all night... NO STANDBY issue for me as well...

It's sooooooooooooo cool !!
