thanks a lot for the help you've already gave me con.....
can you guys help me with a problem, here whats up.... i have 2 touch's right...... my new ones gets evdo no problem..... but the old one, it will only get evdo when set to home only..... but when on home only, it only gets a signal like once a day from whwtever tower that it tries to connect to on home only...... its wierd..... i change the esn on my alltel account from the working evdo touch to the other one..... and after it dials #777, it switches to 1x..... thats with several different custom roms tried including almost all of con's, alltels newest official rom...... still wont get evdo..... anyways, heres the phone details in device info: Rom version: 3.10.671.1 ROM date: 9/22/08 Radio version: 3.42.30 protocol version: DCAAXAM-4350H Hardware version: 0001 PRL version: 30033 (alltels latest for the touch, same one working evdo touch has) PRI Version: 2.02_011 just so you know, it currently has alltels official 6.1 rom forgot to say, when my rome icon is flashing on and off is when it will not get evdo..... if its flashing, no evdo, and if its not there at all, gets evdo....... but thats very rarely that it gets the signal from that home tower.... Iv seen the standard and home only setting but never knew what they were for. mines always set to standard. anyone know exactly what it does?

I saw this post yesterday (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=40727) and was wondering if you could include this reg edit in your latest version? I hate putting my phone in my pocket with it in an active mode when listening to music. Also I know that right now there does not appear to be anyway to make the interenet browsers work in landscape mode while the rest of hte phone is in portrait. With S2P you can slide your finger down the side and it converts to landscape. Would you know how this is done and is there is a way to pull the function out and tie it to a browser? alright, tried the beta, and when put to evdo only, it tries to connect to the home tower as if i put it in home only mode and will not get signal..... like it thinks it has to be in home only mode to get the evdo

alright! awesome news ... for me that is.... i fixed the evdo problem on the touch..... in epst settings, the hdr auth password was set to the wrong esn...... your hdr auth password is your esn.... well, my phones esn differs from what it was originally... when i changed the esn... did 228 option 3... it apparently updates everything except for the hdr auth password...... just to let ppl know in case they do the same thing as me.... anyways, thanks for the help guys

hey, heres something interesting i figured out... alright, i took my htc touch that is not on my account and out of service because i have 2 touch's and only 1 line of service... and i changed the hdr auth password for the evdo to the password of the one that is in service..... the pass is the esn, you can change it in epst (##778 send) and the internet worked on it..... it worked with it having just the hdr password set.... the actual esn of the phone was still unchanged and out of service... i could not make calls, but could use the evdo... interesting.... now, if i used evdo on both phones at the same time, or evdo on one and voice on the other at the same time, would alltel be able to see this? cuz if it just checks the pass, i would think that it doesnt check the esn of the phone..... i was wondering because i thought it would be nice to be able to teher the one that just gets data to the comp for internet and still be able to talk on the other one at the same time...... cuz i have to tether, i dont have seperate internet service.....
