First I used Coke 2.31 unlocker

Then I installed the newest Alltell Rom, making sure that I did a soft reset before the customizations were run. (This INCLUDES the radio that I am using, 3.37.10)

Then I installed OMJ's Bell GPS ROM, although I am not sure if this one is as up to date as his current Sprint ROM, but it would appear so to me and it seems to work just fine.

Big key is to use the unlocker first, follow the instructions, and to get into the Coke bootloader, power on the device while holding the camera button, then you'll be ready to load the Alltell ROM, and do the same thing to load OMJ's ROM.

If you get stuck there's LOTS of more in depth writeups than I've given you here just search around the forums.

Thanks ..As much as i had read i was confused as to where the radio update came in but you make it clear it comes in the form of the altel rom....After that I assume we can use any flavour of cooked rom ? I really want TOM TOM as i have it on my treo but it is palm based. I will give it a shot when i get home from work tonight.. Bell will never "give" this to us and it is a must have with this phone.. I been using my BT GPS since day one and would love to cut that out of the whole equation....

After a fresh ROM install with almost any of the GPS ROMs (I'm on Sprint), GPS works very well. The second day, I have to fight with soft resets, priming, praying and cussing to get GPS to work. The third day nothing but a hard reset will get it working.

I have a few questions. I just installed OMJ rom with rev a, now for some reason I cannot install PIM backup on my phone. OMJ old non gps rom had pim backup which was great. I am also having a hard time getting a lock on gps. What settings are you using in GPS Viewer and do you run gps viewer before you open google maps? One more question, for some reason whenever I reset my phone, it automatically starts up in pocket informant which is the organizer I use. I cannot find the startup tab where I can stop this. Thanks for all your help.

Not sure if this is helpful to any of you but the install process I took was to install the Bell ROM, downgraded the radio to 3.35 and then installed OMJ's v2 ROM. I have GPS Toggle to turn the GPS on and off. I haven't done a reset (hard nor soft) in 9 days and have used the GPS 3 times since without much of a problem. I Toggle the GPS on and wait 10 seconds and then open GPSviewer... Open the GPS (occasionally I have to click on warm or cold boot) and within a minute I have a lock.

I can live with this setup since it's not much different than using an external GPS but........

Hey OMJ, while you're here...Can you please see if you can figure out why some of us are having a problem that our ringer profile keeps switching by itself. Meaning, it switches from vibrate to ring to off.

It happens to me mostly after hanging up a call with BT headset but sometimes even by itself. It also happened when I was on one of JDs 6.1 ROMs.

if u can consistently make it happen, try disabling HTC Home, then test again....

or uncheck "large start menu" in settings....i checked "replace system start menu" in QM settings & it's working as it should.

startup animation? you have to use total cmdr on the phone to overwrite. Another way to change the startup animation, is the copy the alltel gif to \windows, dont rename it, then use Advanced Configuration in the utilities folder to change the gif file (browse to the alltel gif).

It should connect to #777, it will say vision, but thats just a label.

By disabling do you mean uncheck it from the Today screen options? I already tried that but it did not help. I also noticed it happen when I used a BT GPS receiver.

It looks like it has something to do with the Ring picker on the title bar. It seems to ignore settings from the sounds and notifications settings too.

I did load a KMS Mobile Profiler. It works until I do a soft reset. The Ring picker does ignore that profiler program too.

The Vision was something with IOTA .. I deleted the dir under Program Files and now I dont get it anymore and everything wrks great!
